Johnson was floored by Ketchel who was just a middleweight at that time could any other former middleweight of 154 world champ have floored Johnson in a fantasy fight? Could Kethchel have floored and of today`s heavyweights?

Honestly, people don’t want to hear it but if Inoue doesn’t have to dehydrate he will probably floor Johnson and clown him while doing it. Boxers from the 1910s look rancid compared to modern fighters.

giving up 40 or 50 pounds against heavy weight champ and a good defensive fighter in Johnson. I would go with rjj. but still could be a situation good little guy against good big guy.

Ketchel wouldn’t reach any of today’s heavyweights, Even if he did the size and weight difference would be too much and his punch would not floor any of today’s heavyweights. As for flooring Jackson, with one punch several probably but I’d say if Julian Jackson or Gerald McClellan caught him he’d be in danger of getting knocked out or stopped. Someone like Nigel Benn maybe floors him.

Yes, out of the Champs at 160, I'd def say RJJ and GGG

He was floored, looked embarrassed, and literally instantly flung a wild punch that dropped Ketchel for good (Johnson himself going to the floor again from the lunge). It's a famous video. Hope I'm remembering that correctly... Legend has it that when Johnson stands back up and starts wiping and picking at his glove that it was because a couple of Ketchels teeth were embedded.

    Other notes on the fight:

During promotion, Ketchel wore giant peacoats to minimize the size difference.

They had agreed to a rematch. Ketchel was in training at his friends farm when their ranch hand went crazy and shot him dead in the house.

For me it looked staged , JJ seems to almost fall before the " punch " lands, believe it was a set up, for sure the next 10 seconds was for real. keep well.

Jack was carrying Ketchel so the fight fans could get their money's worth when I believe Ketchel went for broke and got lucky with a shot Johnson wasn't expecting. He was hit hard, then he killed Stanley

People seem to really underestimate how hard some middleweights hit. There's a certain weight around middleweight where guys can KO even the biggest men. Sure Tommy Hearns was smashing ****s from welterweight to cruiserweight at the top level.

Exactly the kind of guys I'd imagine being capable of doing that kind of damage. Never forget Gerald McClellan or perhaps John Mugabi in that conversation though.
