Would n't have much of the "Sweet Science" but would be a short but sweet action packed brawl. The winner -

Galento on account of his superior punch power.

Foul filled but fun to watch, both down at some point.
Wepner bleeding from cuts above both eyes gets pulled out in 9.

The fans would definitely win. That is the only certainty in this. Well, that and it's certain to be incredibly ugly and full of fouls.

First two rounds galento would clown a bit and throw a few light punches to figure out the range against such a big man. Chuck keeps a high guard only using saw pawing jabs and tying tony up when he's close.

Then chuck tries to land a shot on the bobbing and weaving tony and accidentally nails him in the back of the head. Tony goes into a rage and starts beating Chuck's belly like a drum only to get tied up. As the ref breaks then up, tony whacks chuck with a hook and received a stern warning.

Round 4-5 and they are now slugging it out. Both men looks so sloppy it's like watching two kids trying to fight underwater. Tony works on the body again and here comes yet another rabbit punch. Before the ref can even do anything, tony stomps on Chuck's foot and uses that opening to throw a powerful hook that staggers chuck and opens up a bad cut above the right eye. A frustrated ref deducts a point from both men.

Round 6 and the corner man can't get much done about the blood and chuck keeps pawing with his right glove. He goes into a shell and Tony wind the round on aggression.

Round 7-8 chuck gets better work done in the corner and starts fighting tall: jab, right hand, clinch when tony gets close. Unfortunately, tony is so erratic and bullish that this is a difficult task for chuck to take on consistently. After getting tagged many times on the way in, a swollen faced Tony goes for a low blow and chuck reels. He gets back up while the ref is scolding and wraps tony with one arm while nailing him with uppercuts with the other. Now tony has blood streaming from the forehead. The ref gives a final warning to both men and takes more points. The crowd is seemingly galvanized at the sight of so much blood and chaos.

Round 9-10 both men are pissed off with each other and just slug it out relentlessly. There are elbows, rabbit punches, eye thumbing, wild hooks, and head butts. Chuck cannot even open his right eye anymore and Tony's shorts are soaking bright red from his own blood as well as Chuck's. Both are covered in lumps and bruises. Finally in the 11th chuck puts all his weight into a sweeping right hand to the body that knocks the wind out of tony's blubbery gut. Tony rolls around in immense pain and pukes up half digested hot dogs and beer onto the canvas. Chuck is instructed to go to a neutral corner but then he slips on the vomit and bangs his head on the turnbuckle, creating a huge bruise and is too dizzy to get up right away.

The very frustrated ref decides to give tony his standing 8 count first, and he slowly gets up, then the fight is postponed until the vomit can be cleaned. Sanitary agents storm the ring and try to get it squeeky clean in under 5 minutes.

Chuck's head is still ringing and Tony's belly is still throbbing but at least the bleeding has stopped with the extra break between rounds. Finally, after the 12th, Chuck is awarded a split decision. Both men shake hands Chuck offers his opponent a free drink at his bar far such an entertaining, if ugly, fight that the fans got a good laugh out of.

Think I lean towards Galento with the caveat that I haven't seen much Wepner.

This is such a fantastic post, I really enjoyed this. I was cracking up in the part when Chuck Wepner slid on Galento's vomit, and struck his forehead on the ring post. Kudo's to you.

    You aren't missing much.

Although his spirited attempt to win the title against Ali was nice and helped inspire the Rocky films. Oh, and don't watch his fight with Liston if you're squeemish at the sight of blood.

Galento would win, unless too much of Wepner's blood got in his eyes, and he was blinded by it!

It would look like a surgeons room by the time it was over.

Galento will beat on Wepner like a heavy bag, and rock him all over the ring with bombs. But at the end of the day, Wepner is still standing and he has also been landing his own shots.

By round 8 it is a bloody mess, but Galento is the one that falls. The real life Rocky Balboa - Wepner has his hand raised by the Ref.

I would not pay someone else to watch this ugly fight. Lol

But I think Tony is the most probable winner.

This fight is going to be a bloody mess for sure, Sly Stallone shouts to Galento, What Are You Doing To My Model Of My Rocky Franchise? Stallone tries to pull Tony away, just then he hears someone say, I Want Balboa, and it is Smoking Joe Frazier, he chases Sly out of the bar, with Stallone hollering, Yo Adrian, I Am Coming Home. Lol.

I think Tony “Twinkle Toes” Galento breaks out the bicycle and boxes circle around Wepner, darting in and out with quick combos and working the jab like a surgeon to open cuts over both eyes.

He’s hooking off the jab and mocking Wepner from the seventh round on, then in the ninth he goes to a crouch and closes in to maul and brawl … but suddenly Tony does a shuffle as the tassels on his shoes swirl — when Wepner glances down at them, Tony launches an anchor punch and drops Chuck for the 10-count.

I wonder if the referee is Sonny Liston?
