I get your point but if Sky are dishing out multi million pound contracts that demand you make 4 PPVs a year outside of AJ without star names your between a Rick and a hard place. Hence we got the likes of Campbell vs Loma and Brook vs GGG

Del boy Sizzora went up to Earn and asked for a 10 figure pay slip. Earn monumentally shat his dacks and obliged.

Now every fighter is walking around demanding the same money. Shame

Yep, Chisora - Parker on PPV really was the peak, couldn't have got any worse than that. In hindsight probably was Eddie just doing one last fleecing of the mugs before he jumped ship to DAZN, the snake really has no shame.

An interesting development with the invention of Fightzone is that regional title fights now will largely be contested on that platform. I don’t see DAZN/BT/Sky bothering with them with their minimum level being commonwealth going forward. You used to get the odd 50/50 regional title fight even on Sky PPVs back in the day, now not so much.

I don't judge PPVs by the headline, i judge it by the whole card

Wasn't meaning to target just Matchroom. They 'might' have done one or two less without pressure from Sky, but I wouldn't be so sure with Hearn..

But it is a bigger problem - boxing is just harder to follow these days. Chatting to a massive UFC fan last week and you realise when you talk to someone like that how mental boxing has become. I mean how do you explain what a franchise world champion is..

Yeah, looks that I had get.

I will post here my general opinion, in no kind this is about one or two or three promotions.

I think a lot attention might had been gathered with enough competitive fights in all card.
All these too predictable outcome matchups does have place but in worst case medium or small shows, small hall shows or clubs ( for undercard in good club not main card ).

If I see TBA or absolute no hopers on fight card, this for me looks awful boring, then there remains only main event, co main event etc.
BTW, sadly german proms cards were too predictable outcome fights on undercards.
Okey, before covid they at least had WBSS where some fights on undercards were damn close matchups fights, ofc not all.
One fight event they had i had 3 fights where I never had balls to place bet with $.
Last WBSS event with final, sadly everything too predictable what there will happen unless no clue about main event outcome.

I agree that with good cards better sales might had been achieved and really significantly increase sales. Not like last WBSS event, where I did not had interest to watch any fight besides main event.
I hope eddie will improve and deliver more interesting stuff than this last WBSS final event undercards.

Oh I agree. I’m a huge UFC fan. But they are going the other way at times where some fighters are having 3/4 fights and not even making 6 figures. Yet the actual promotion is making millions. There’s a fine line between the two

I remember Hearn saying 'you cant expect Whyte to fight for 400 grand'!!!!

WHY NOT??? WHAT ELSE IS HE GOING TO DO?

i remember Chisora stinking Eurosport out probably on 20k a fight .....The UK casuals have been hoodwinked

Well, business usually always attempts to pay someone according to his previous salary or his previous contracts.
This is simple manipulation, according to this you too should be paid the same salary as you had when you get your first job etc.

The problem is, that boxers does not wish to get too risky fights. Managers and promoters does knows this.
Boxers teams too prefer that they have undefeated boxers, at least in worst case on long winning streak.

So, there is some Chisora, who if purse is enough high, might agree to fight vs everyone and this is rarity in modern days.
We did not had Hunter vs Hrgovic for example this year and for what reason, why do you think?
