Would it? It's heavyweight and punchers can turn a fight around in seconds… that's not a rare thing.. Fury won the first two but officially they would be 1-1-1.. if anything The first two fights were examples of historical heavyweight redemption… Considering Fury was retired & a mess for years and then travelled to America to beat the American champion when no one gave him a shot.. would Wilder pulling out a hail Mary this time be as significant? Because that's what he's known for anyway.. it's not impossible.. I'm actually bored of the whole saga tbh, Wilder winning would be significant but it means we would be stuck with the **** & his trash fans .. i'd love to see Fury dispatch him for good personally.. I get a feeling that something strange will occur in this fight and it won't go to script.. The powers that be have let Wilder back into the sport for a reason because he was in no mans land basically.. literally a running joke among fans!

 

If Wilder had just said, ''Congratoolasions Foory, you beats me fair and skwair on Blacc Hisry monf, but dat aright, I be bac fightn for my famblee', people would have overlooked the fact he's a low life imbecile and probably felt sorry for him. But some would argue he didn't make the best choices after the rematch and created some problems for himself.

I give him a decent chance of landing a decisive bomb. Fury's handlers were idiots doing three fights with Wilder. They should have just signed for a rematch. If Fury had lost that rematch by KO, a third fight might have finished Fury anyway, especially if he went AWOL after coming to terms with somebody born from a mother defeating him.

 

All I can do is crack a sarcastic smile at the level of obtuseness portrayed with your Wilder rendition. If only you got to know more people outside your comfort zone. Still, back to boxing, Wilder will need more than just his right hand to win. Ive see DW put together short combinations before, he needs to stick a jab out there straight to that dad body of Fury to set up the headshots.

This is a question about narrative and that's something Wilder has got badly wrong. He's a limited, but brave, fighter who started out with a pressing need to look after his kids. Within that are all the ingredients necessary for him to be widely loved, win or lose. Somewhere along the way he's allowed himself to construct a ludicrous mythology in which he's the invincible king of his Bomb Squad nation. Resultingly he's now in a place where he can't accept defeat or admit fallibility. If he had done the public would be primed for a redemption story if he knocks Fury out. As it is, most people would say, 'Ok, lucky punch, when's the Fury v Joshua fight happening?' The only route to redemption left open to Wilder is to take Fury apart as comprehensively as he was dismantled last time out. It's a narrow path of his own making.

 

Wilder would run away from any rubber match and go back to fighting bums... I reckon Ortiz is probably due another go at it, maybe Stiverne 3 too

It doesn't matter who the better boxer is. Better boxers lose to lesser opponents regularly, its who can get the job done on the day.

 

Just checked Boxrec. It shows a draw for the first fight. You should email them and let them know that there's a mistake.

If this were a significant injury such that it rendered him completely useless in setting up... Why all the crazy excuses when there's a good one that sitting underutilized all along?

Cynically, I'm predisposed to think Wilder didn't think the injury was a big deal given he used this (legitimate if true) excuse no more often than his crazy excuses...

 

That's because the third bout is not a "rubber match". Wilder and Fury drew the first bout on the cards (clearly Fury was robbed), and Fury won the second.

A rubber match is when both have equal victories and the so-called "rubber match" is the decider.
