Julio César Chávez Carrasco vs. Anderson da Silva

Héctor Jr. actually stands to suffer an even greater embarrassment than Julio did against Silva. In that one the age difference was only 11 years, and Silva had somewhat recently fought in the UFC, and 46 is still a not totally unreasonable age to be fighting. JCC is 58 (with the face and body of an octogenarian) and the spread here is sixteen years. And the younger guy climbed from welter to light heavy in his career, while the older climbed from super feather to welter.

(So, both Chávez Sr. and Camacho Jr. scored hits after the bell to end round three, and Camacho started jawing at Chávez, lunging at him like he was going to go at him again...then Julio gets to his corner and demands they remove the headgear and goads Camacho to do the same. Then after both seem ready to have an impromptu "for real" fight the ref makes them both put the gear on before he'll start the fourth...and then CANELO JUMPS IN THE RING, LAUGHING BUT ALSO PEELING OFF HIS JACKET LIKE HE'S GOING TO START THROWING DOWN, WTF IS HAPPENING)

Lots of warmth in that embrace between Sr. and Canelo - how much do you think he wishes he could adopt him and swap out Jr. and Omar?

 

Not sure what's crazier, that he can box like that at 58 or that Steve Borden can wrestle as well as he did at 62 a couple of weeks ago.
