I have my opinion, or had my opinion. I've listened to reports from fighters and hall of fame trainers/fighters and now I'm not so sure. Tank has always been small to me. He's only like 5'5 and has never been big, not even for 130. When he failed to take out a one legged, past his prime Gamboa my doubts seemed to be confirmed. I've always said 135 was the max for Tank, maybe 140 once he got into the twilight of his career.

Since then I've heard what Luis Arias said about Tank and his power. The same Arias who just beat down Jarret Hurd at 160lb! He said Tanks power is REAL and any fighter from ANY weight class will feel his power. Then I've recently heard Buddy McGirt say how Tank could go upto 147!!

that much is obvious, but the question is ....can his talent and ability overcome that like it has for legendary shorter fighters like Walcott, Tyson, Langford and Qawi.

The biggest unknown for me is if Tank can take punches at the higher weight. People always talk about whether his power will go up with him but for me I see his horrible defense as the biggest hurdle for moving up. He is easy to hit and at 140 and 147 they crack a lot harder than anyone he has faced at 130-135.

He would struggle above 135 imo. He's strong enough but he's not busy enough to win consistently against bigger opposition

    140 is his limit

Suicidal if he goes as any higher

Tank's walking around weight nowadays is likely in the mid-150s, and that's a semi muscular weight. Don't buy his damage control propaganda that it's around 140.. you only need to see his recent escapades to know this.. He's a little fat ******* if he's inactive & that 150 would probably be higher too.. It's clearly a major ordeal for Davis to get down to 135 and 130. He's just very short therefore he's spent as much time as he can fighting small fighters rather than face fighters that pretty much weigh the same weight as him but are more naturally in proportion rather than suffering from dwarfism like he does. A lot of American fighters fight (aided by clever doping regimes) at weights well below their actual weight & look really good doing so, it then creates an illusion that they are pound for pound material when in fact they are weight bullies that would get murked by their contemporaries who are hovering at the normal 10-15 pounds above their weigh in weight rather than the 25-40lbs that i.e Lopez, Davis & Crawford do. Which is ridiculous for SMALLER weight fighters. Especially if they are young..

He will not fight top guys at any weight starting 135

For example he will not fight Prograis

He can fight at 147 if he doesn’t mind giving up 15lb’s like Pacquiao. More importantly is the style to be able to handle bigger and longer opponents.

Reach and mobility might be big problem even at 135 lbs while he does have athleticism and power enough for 140 lbs division.
He should improve and seriously. I think he is able to take a punch and continue smoothly, still he does have too much serious flaws he needs to correct.

He's gonna get that fat head jabbed off by some 5'11 140 pounder who weighs a functional 155 on the night. Sad as hell. The minute I saw him taking Broner's counsel I knew it was over.
