Fair post, the question for Joyce is will the judges score the flailing and will Parker be able to utilise his decent hand speed? I don't see Joyce being able to KO Parker but at heavyweight anything can happen.

No he'll not likely KO him but he'll hit him hard enough to stop from wanting to come forward. And a Parker on the backfoot is pretty useless.

Not sure about the judging. Parker's flurrying style seems to be quite popular with the British judges.

On the night i had Parker winning but as i rewatched it, it was clear Chisora won

Joyce jabs him into submission and Parker just takes it. Parker has nothing to beat Joyce with. I genuinely believe Parker has regressed to the point where Takam and Ruiz could beat him fax. Parker was never that good and was nothing more than a high end gatekeeper due to the fact that he lost to Whyte but now he is even below that.

I wouldn't even be suprised if limited Dubois could give Parker a run for his money

What has Joyce done? He beat Dubois who is just a prospect with no big wins. Does Joyce really deserve a shot at AJ based on his resume? Joyce should go and fight Ruiz, Parker, Whyte, Ortiz, Chisora

I say in the next post he should beat another top level fighter really to deserve a shot

And fight all of the fighters you list? Are you for real?

Like thats happening, most of thar lot either want too much cash or take forever to negotiate

Joyce is 36,if he needs to fast track it i dont blame him one bit

Parker's still a good gatekeeper for anyone wanting to reach the upper echelons. But yes, I'd say Ruiz would be tipped to beat him if they rematched, and Takam as well depending on how much age has taken out of him. There are very few fighters in the top ten or even top fifteen that I'd confidently pick Parker over; someone like Kownacki might outwork him, Hunter would outbox him, yes even Dubois or any of the other prospects could give him issues. I don't think I'd even pick him over Wilder anymore, and that's a fight I think stylistically suits Parker down to a tee.

Frankly Parker's top level career aspirations are over. He knew he needed to make a statement in the Chisora fight and the statement he made was that he wasn't going anywhere with his career and would be picked off by anyone with a bit of quality and ambition.

People also take into account Joyce's amateur career when rating him. No, as of right now he doesn't deserve a shot at Joshua, but a couple of high end wins and why not? Someone like a Parker and maybe Ortiz and I'd say he's as worthy as anyone else.

I don't think he meant fight all of those names listed but a couple of them, which would be reasonable. Though a lot of top fighters would swerve him knowing the risks he brings with his awkward style. He might need to resort to taking on tough fight anyone sluggers like Chisora or maybe a Hunter for the time being since I doubt any of the other names mentioned barring Parker would want to risk it.

As a kiwi with low to no hope in Parker anymore, I still believe he would beat the likes of Joyce. Really, Joyce isn't that good... he's pretty limited and incredibly predictable.

I think Parker edges another boring 115-113 or 116-112 type of win.

Happy to take a 3 month ban bet to make things interesting (not that Parker deserves it...)

He has a quick 1-2. IF, and it’s a big if, he is in good shape.

As soon as he turns up with handles you know he will stink the joint out. And that’s before you look at the other question marks. It’s actually quite difficult after his last 2 fights to see him ever getting back to contender level again.

Joyce is all of those things but write him off at your peril. He fights to his strengths extremely well and is very composed in there. I’ve wrote him off in fights due to how cumbersome he looks. Painfully slow hand and foot speed.

He has quick feet, good footwork and underrated head movement. The one thing that Parker has above him is handspeed, put Parker is neither a mover, nor a great inside fighter who can use those attributes to outwork Joyce, he's mainly trading at mid to long range.
His best best would be going to the body a lot, otherwise Joyce will just outwork him and wear him down. A bigger guy with a better gas tank and IMO more power is a dangerous combination.
