It's not his first he lost to a journeyman about 16 years ago or more, also has a TKO over some no hoper... Edit sorry didn't see full title
With respect, Chavez Jr has an amazing chin and is as strong as an ox. He can also box some if he puts his mind to it. But he's not dedicated to the sport and he's paid the price for it. And this is from a guy that thought he had a genuine chance to beat Canelo
Look at what he did with Jacobs. He came in determined and it showed, despite him missing weight. But Jacobs kept his cool and focused on the body. The moment fatigue set it, Chavez basically gave up.
And that is a good point. Some of the most ferocious and dedicated fighters grow up with nothing. Their poverty makes them strong.
Sr. was asked about his sons loosing on his undercard and he said they should just retire if they aren´t taking boxing seriously. Their own father sees that they are not 100% in it and it´s evident in their performances. Chavez Jr. was a good middleweight, despite his size advantage. If you look at his fights before he started training with Roach, it´s evident that he got a lot better under Roach. The talent was there with at least some dedication. Omar never looked like he had much talent, if being honest.
MMA fighters are exposing boxing. Chavez loses to a 50 year old MMA fighter. Mcgregor goes life and death with the GOAT mayweather. Artem crushes Paulie.
