He went for the bigger fish he had unfinished business with

Wilder has always been legacy over money

And Ruiz wouldve chinned AJ meaning Wilder would have been stuck in a bad contract

Just my opinion, would Ruiz have got up from a Wilder knockdown?

    Comedy gold of the year!!

Wilder has ducked far too many good fighters to make that claim - AJ would've been easily a career high payday and instead he went back to fighting bums for poor PPV numbers.

Nobody with Wilders resume can EVER claim to be about legacy in any way whatsoever.

It's hard to say, isn't it?

He got up from a Joshua knock down and won the fight.

Ruiz is very thick set, so it's certainly possible he could absorb a Wilder right hand.

We'll never know because Wilder hasn't got the guts to face guys like Ruiz.

Man you are such a fan girl. I don't even know where to start with this post. Hagler thought Leonard was a cherry pick? You realise he had been chasing Leonard for YEARS right? And that Leonard has literally said, on film, that the reason he finally fought Hagler was because he A) looked like he had faded significantly in the Mugabi fight and B) because after having a conversation with him in some restaurant that Leonard owned, it was obvious his head wasn't in the game the same way it had been previously?

And this is what you try to bring up to justify Wilder fighting a guy who was close to the weight of a small elephant and had to shed many, many lbs?

Wilder has only fought one elite guy in his career and that happened to be a guy who had time away from the sport and who's weight shot up to sumo wrestler territory. That's not a coincidence. And before you talk about 'well he has chosen to face him 3 times'....what was he supposed to do when the world was calling him out for getting a gift draw? And of course he is going to fight him a third time, otherwise he'd have to beat contenders to have a shot at fighting for a title again, which based off his record is something he clearly isnt very confident that he can do.
