Does he have deceptive power or is it just the angling he gets on his punches with his opponents in awkward positions to take them? He continually manages to hurt and stagger far bigger opponents despite seemingly not throwing with a lot of pop.
He lands clean because of his speed, accuracy and timing which makes up for his lack of one punch power. His power is underrated i'd say. I don't think he's a huge puncher but he doesn't have to be. If he's landing clean punches at will it will gradually break an opponent down and hurt them quickly.
I prefer his way of stopping people than One punch KO. why ? Becuase it hard to make that many accurate punches and angles many many times, than to land ONE punch.
This. Also, the opponent doesn’t see the shots coming. It comes in very short, very straight and if you take one, the next one comes in immediately, wobbling your brain around your skull.
Linares, Pedraza, Campbell, Nakatani, Crolla, all naturally bigger me , all put on there arses.. he has good power (not explosive) his shots come from all sorts of unexpected angles & are quick too.. he's not a feather fist like some used to say. Ask Roman Martinez.
29-2-3 at the time.. He'd only been stopped by Mikey Garcia, & that was a body shot .. Salido, Lorenzo, Burgos, Cook, Magdaleno, Burns, Garcia etc couldn't chin him.. so I wouldn't say he suffered from glass.
At what weight is the question. I don't think his power has moved up with him. Somebody said 6 / 10 and that's about right. At a lighter weight, 7 or 7,5.
He doesnt ever wind up his punches (excepy bodyshot, thats why he has so many KDs with bodywork) so they dont have much power, he does have incredible precision and timing
Even though he's a natural 126 and has been fighting out of his natural weight class for his last 11 fights he's still managed to stop 11 of his 15 wins and his his KO% would be even higher if not for injury because he busted his hand in one of those fighters which lasted the distance and fought the one-handed for the second half of the fight. He stopped three of his six opponents at 126 He stopped all five of his opponents at 130, four of them being via no mas And he's stopped three of his six opponents at 135 The only fighters he hasn't stopped who weren't way bigger than him were GRJ and Piriyapinyo albeit the later did have 5lbs on him and the only reason he didn't stop him was because he bust his hand and fought the second half of the fight one handed. He dropped him the previous round prior to busting his hand IIRC and Loma was still in first gear at that point and injured his hand right about the time he typically starts switching into Matrix mode and he's a completely different animal when in Matrix mode This content is protected Salido had 11 pounds on him and Loma had never been past the 5th round before And Pedraza, Campbell, and Lopez were all way naturally bigger and heavier than him and he hurt all three of them, dropped Campbell and had him in big trouble a couple of times and he dropped Pedraza x 2 and came within a whisker of stopping him when he started actually throwing his right hook which wasn't until about the 9th round IIRC and that was because he'd been advised by his surgeon not to But he's hurt, dropped or stopped everyone he's fought at 135 even though he's a leprechaun's son fighting giants at that weight
Loma doesn't go for the KO, but some guys throw KO shots every time they punch. Similar to Usyk, he doesn't appear to have huge power, but he had Chisora hurt quite badly and completely ironed out Bellew when he sat down on that last shot.
