    I agree 100%

Imagine a presser between him and Duran too.

Imagine Duran at the weigh-in etc.

Floyd didn’t have their confidence/mental strength.

Where do you people come with this crap ?!
Now I also see Hearns favorite over FMJ, but to say FMJ lacks confidence, now that is just plain dumb.
Floyd probably has more confidence in himself than anyone else.

People cant see whats right in front of their face ,, He had no answer for the strength of JLC .. he consistently kept pushing off with his elbows and got a point deducted because he could not deal with the stronger fighter constantly landing the bigger shots throughout the fight ... The fight was an EVEN fight , very close ,, and many had JLC getting the nod ...THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL that it was a 116-111 , 115-111, 115-111 UD fight for May.. Floyd has ZERO case for those cards ... Now you say we move on to Duran, Hearns , and SRL ?? is there really a need

He was 6ft but he was unusual in that he never used his height the way a tall fighter generally does. Chico was devastating at midrange and even inside. He was a unique talent for a time.

These guys are obviously just young fans who grew up hearing stories about the older fighters and never actually followed their careers. When I was a kid there was no YouTube, I used to get everything I knew from Ring mag....once YouTube came out I started watching every old fight I could find, and I soon realized that a lot of the stuff the boxing media pushes about certain fights and fighters is utter BS.
As for Mayweather, I'm not going to directly say all the hate he gets is due to racism, but it's well known in boxing that many fans are uncomfortable with strong, wealthy and outspoken black men. Jack Johnson, Cassius Clay and B Hop all experienced this throughout their careers and it's been the same for floyd. These fans favor less bombastic athletes who know their place and behave as theyre told to.

Or perhaps people dislike Mayweather because he's a scumbag who beats up women?

Also many of those who hate him on this forum are fans of Ali, myself included. So your premise is almost as weak as Mayweather's chances against Hearns.

Then why did he duck Winky Wright and others?

No, it's not for beating up women. Carlos Monzon beat women too and he is treated like royalty on this forum. So did Jake LaMotta. Of course closet racists will use that as an excuse but we all know the real reason why. Honestly it wouldn't be that big of a deal if you just came out and admitted it, more people would probably even start to take you more serious.

Yes, LaMotta and Monzon were scumbags for doing that.

Do you agree that Mayweather is a scumbag or not?

    How exactly is it crap?

Did you not follow his career?

He retired from boxing when the WW division was hot.

He deliberately cheated JMM on the scales.

    He wouldn’t let Canelo weigh-in at 154.

He wouldn’t fight Manny until he was faded, before then taking PEDS.

Floyd’s TV persona is different from the man who fought.

    Floyd has a huge ego.

    Floyd is arrogant.

Floyd is the pantomime villain, who invented the ‘Money’ monicker in the second half of his career.

He was a genius. But he was a safety first businessman.

A guy who was confident enough to mix with the ‘Fab Four’ wouldn’t have carried himself in the way that he has.

He wasn’t always 100% confident. Otherwise he wouldn’t have pulled all of the BS that he pulled.

A guy who wouldn’t fight a prime version of Manny Pacquiao or a young version of Canelo at 154, WAS NOT EVER getting in the ring with a prime version of Thomas Hearns.

It doesn’t take a lot of working out.

I've never met the man so I have no place to cast judgement on him. He does strikes me as a bit full of himself, but we can't criticize him for that and then turn around and applaud Cassius Clay for the same behavior

Also, I didn’t say that Floyd had no mental strength or confidence.

I said that he didn’t have THEIR (Duran and Hearns’) mental strength and confidence.

    He didn’t.

Mayweather being full of himself is only part of the reason he is disliked.

It also has little to do with how people rate him as a boxer.

Hearns smashes him because he is a stylistic nightmare for him. It is as simple as that.
