How many top wins does Hearns have at 147 though?
He wasn't ever considered the real champion there. He has a great win against Cuevas but not much else. He fought a couple of other names but they were a bit past it or not even much good.

 

He was a bit of a weight bully at welter

I would have Hearns and Trinidad on the list

 

If this is H2H, then Hearns should be on the list.

But as @Unforgiven has said, he didn't have a top 10 resume

 

I think that Basilio is too high, that Leonard should not be above Napoles, and that Luis Rodriguez is probably too low.
Tommy Hearns was not, let me repeat, WAS NOT, an unbeatable juggernaut at 47. He was carefully matched and thus relatively uneducated. There are more than a few that would have defeated him on the night he fought Leonard.
Tommy at 47 is becoming the equivalent of "young Foreman."

Totally disagree. He's on plenty of top 10 lists and when a guy like McGrain has him #8 you know he's deserving. So many don't realize there's a lot more than Ceuvas and Leonard on his resume. He beat quite a few contenders and ex champs.

But maybe more than 10 welterweights have better resumes.

 

Britton is the worst omission on that list, by far.
Ted Kid Lewis would make my top 10. Walcott maybe.

 

I tell you what. Lets spice the place up with some non heavyweight action. Start a thread with your top 10 resume based (in no order to make it easy) and lets see if some of us can shoot some down comparatively to get Hearns in the 10.

Hearn was never even world champion at 147, and failed when he challenged for it. Then he moved up the divisions.

 

I think Hearns might have a better resume than Basilio or Rodriguez at 147 on that list.
