Crawford is basically a 34 year old elite prospect

I think saying a 3 weight world champ, where one of the weights he was undisputed, is only a prospect is more than a tad harsh.

Not many boxers manage those achievements. That said, Crawford has certainly stagnated since winning his strap at 147, I think everyone expected him to go on and at least unify, with fights against Porter, Swift Garcia, Thurman and obviously Spence.

I know folks will argue that his straps (especially the undisputed @140) were in weak divisions against fairly far from HOF/ATG opponents. But the same arguments can arguably be made for Josh Taylor (who is only a single weight champ).

Whatever the reasons it's just a shame for boxing fans that we haven't saw Crawford maximise his obvious potential - I know a few years ago in some threads folks were picking him to beat Tommy Hearns, or at least give him a great fight. But the reality is he's not fought anyone @147 even fit to lace Hearns boots, which is just a waste of talent.

IMO, the fault/causes are likely multi-faceted:-
    1) Arum - Crawford should never have resigned with Top Rank
    2) Crawford - he's not exactly made a huge effort to try and make the big fights - how many times have we heard him say "whoever my team put in front of me?"
    3) The Others - Crawford is extremely high risk for any of the other 'names' @147, and would likely be favourite against all of 'em (including Spence). So they will all want paid accordingly; which get's back to points 1 & 2; Arum has basically said 'in as many words' that Crawford can't sell ****.

I don't think anyone is really ducking anyone here, it's just a perfect 'impasse' situation leading to the best fights not being made. Crawford has already said on record a few times that he is more than happy with his legacy; 'i don't need Spence etc'. I just hope when he retires and all the dust settles that he doesn't regret that. The whole Spence / Pac fight is guaranteed torture for Crawford, and regardless of what he says in public he will be raging that has come to pass, and he is left on the shelf - not even 2nds for the other names, he is completely frozen out at 147, not least by his own promoter.

Bugs me Crawford...been waiting years for him to show his worth with the elites...instead they'd all rather pull themselves off over how good they are while avoiding each other...N Crawford's resume is absolute ass...who will he fight next ....top 10 contender..maybe Robert Guerrero.....Frankie Gavin...Ike Quartey.....probably fight Miguel berchelt absolute dog****.

The difference when Crawford beat Postol & when Taylor did is Crawford weighed 157, had 25 fights under his belt & was 8 years a pro.. whereas Taylor was about 149, had 12 fights & 3 years pro experience  .. & he still did a number on him anyway.. & if they do fight Crawford will be 35 by that point near enough, maybe more.. more time goes on more it favours Taylor

He wants the big fights. He just wants to get paid too much for them. I think his ego is telling him something that just isn't true. He's not a 10 mil per fight kinda dude. Getting anything less is an insult in his eyes. Very unfortunate. I think Crawford has everything to be the top guy in the world. IQ, power, skill set through the roof. Time is running out.

You have no basis for this comment other than to troll and your hate for certain fighters. You picked Phil Lo Greco to stop Spence to, how did that work out for you? You ignorant ****.

PBF dominated an entire era of the sport you dumb troll. You don't beat Chico Hernandez JLC Zab Gatti Hatton Oscar JMM Cotto Mosley Canelo and Pac by avoiding fights. Crawford's mistake was resigning with Top Rank and putting faith in Arum who promised him big fights with the PBC names at 147 which has never happened.

Crawford is one of the best boxers in the sport today. I would have picked him to beat Spence had they ever fought in fact I'd pick him over any fighter in the world 147 and down. A switch hitting psycho who loves to dish out punishment. There's a reason why guys don't call him out.:deal:

Taylor's win over Postol was good but Crawford beat the better version of Postol.

Yes he does. Im sure he told Crawford that he would make fights with the PBC fighters if Crawford resigned with him. Arum is full of **** and has lied and done many fighters wrong.

Forza is a POS poster who knows nothing about boxing. He made a thread saying that Phil Lo Greco would beat Spence of course after that didn't happen he was no where to be seen. The guy has an agenda and is pure trash.
