    I can't say I like the guy, but do like the best fighting the best.

    Realistically he will probably need to wait for López to rematch Lomachenko first. In the meantime options include the winner of Díaz vs. Fortuna this Friday, and/or Tank Davis if he can still make (and still wants to compete at) lightweight.

    He's favored heavily over GKJ next month, and then Arum is rumored to have a rematch with Hi-Tek already lined up for late this year or early next.

    Haney would have time for at least a fight or two while he waits.

    He already did. The free agency part anyway; Hearn made it public knowledge. Let's see if he blows it or makes the most of it.

    I like Haney. He comes across as a guy who clearly wants to fight the best guys. Unlike Tank or Shakur for example. He still has some work to do and he looked a bit vulnerbale against Linares but he's a nice guy with the right attitude. Hope it works out well for him long-term. I would definitely want to see him fighting Teo, Tank or Shakur.

    Good for Haney. I do find it funny that he becomes a free agent when the best opponent most likely available for him will still be at DAZN, but hey your contract expires when your contract exires.

    :dunno He was elevated to WBC regular champ almost two years ago. Linares was his 3rd defense. Guess you missed all that? Or you know and you're just passing snarky commentary on the state of things, which...fair.

    So, the regular belt reunified with Teo's franchise belt, for starters. Plus the WBO, IBF, and WBA that Brooklynero has added to his collection.

    Lopez is tied up with Kambosos and preumably Loma. So Haney calling him out as such is really nothing more than a soft threat. Haney needs to bone up and fight one of the young guns such as Garcia or Davis.
