It is very easy to say that when you are pushing pen and not getting punched in the face for a living. More belts = more money which is surely a good thing for the fighters. Fans all know who the daddy is regardless of who holds what trinkets.

Fighters have accountants and managers to worry about their finances, that's not a fans job.

But real fans don't know who the daddy is, that's the problem. Who's the daddy at SFW? Who's the daddy at MW? How about WW? FW? SBW? FLW?

No one knows, that's part of the problem.

Me. The convoluted nature of boxing championships is an absolute mess and the more press members that get on board with this, the better.

I have more clout than boxingnewsonline

    My stance is the opposite

    More belts
    More divisions
    More broadcasters
    More everything!

The WBC will make me a belt to mark my commitment and bravery to have such a stance

I accepted 4 belts long ago despite how ridiculous it is. But the situation with the WBA and WBC with all their different versions is tarnishing the sport. It's a joke.

Yeah, a couple of guys put in some really hard work.

Thing is, TBRB were on TV quite a lot in the beginning but that fizzled out a bit, so it's nice to have some UK reach. Plus, I still get Boxing News, so it will be nice to see the rankings and know I contributed in a small way.

I'm fine with 4 belts. I'm not fine with each organization having sub-belts and sub-belts of sub-belts.

As a TBR member, I am elated. I'm more than happy to reach across the isle and shake hands for this endeavor. It's the right call, in my opinion. This sport needs greater clarity, not less; less corruption, not more. You should not have to perform arithmetic just to sort through all of the squalid details about who holds what belt in what class.

No grass roots fighters or anyone up to Euro level will have an accountant. For these fighters fragmented alphabet titles give them an opportunity to earn more coin. Less belts = Less money.
