I am hearing it will probably not take place until September at the earliest, as they want to space it out from the Spence vs Pacquiao PPV. Expect Wilder to say that Fury is trying to find a way out of the fight.
On the plus side, this could actually help with the timing of a potential Fury vs Joshua fight, assuming they win against Wilder and Usyk, respectively.
This absolutely sucks. I wish they at least would find a way to preserve the undercard, maybe move it to smaller venue. But it's assuredly too late.
Mind games for an unstable DW. Smart move from Fury and his handlers. Despite all the detractors and openly demeaning interpretations of a obviously tangled individual; Wilder is still a treacherous feat to tackle. None of you are getting in the ring with him so go easy on the criticism if the fight is truly postponed.
Maybe it's code for "Efe Ajagba keeps beating the crap out of a very soft Tyson Fury and Fury's busted lip won't heal so Tyson needs more time to prepare?" Regardless, freaking amateur hour. Wasn't Arum complaining about Teofimo Lopez and his team not too long ago?
bad play if so as Canelo will be fighting on September 11th for sure. this wilder vs Fury 3 fight is going to lose interest…. & it ain’t that appealing to begin with.
Well, half the undercard is sparring with Fury. So ... if it's in Fury's camp, that isn't good. Amateur hour.
If there’s a postponement, anyone who thinks it’s actually to do with COVID is very confused. They could isolate and still have plenty of time before the fight.
I don't think there was much interest in the fight anyway. Why would anyone want to watch this fight after the 2nd fight was so one sided? The third fight was not needed.
That's crazy. It was always going to be a bit of a hard sell after the televised hiding Wilder took plus his refusal to promote the fight at the key moment, but that is surprising to me. I thought it would do a lot better. And it might yet.
