Ruddock but Tyson was infinitely the more dangerous puncher.

Ruddock probably has top 5 hardest left uppercut in history, but in the early 90's that was what he relied too much on and he was less threatening ironically. A two fisted puncher is always more dangerous than a 1 trick pony.

Rudders had the bigger one shot power but Tyson had the all round better technique to go with his.

I think pretty much the same. Both had their advantages. Tyson was explosive with both hands, Ruddock had that crazy signature punch. Don't get distracted by the fast combinations. Mike had some brutal one punch knockouts too...

People say Ruddock. Based on his stupid wind up and size but really the difference shot for shot is probably very small unlike Foreman, Shavers ect Mike had delivery on his side fighting like a flyweight helped a ton I imagine. He also didn't require half a ring to throw a stupid gimmick punch whose best victim felled who exactly?

Rudduck's punch is actually something I use quite a bit. I'm a southpaw, so if I can't get my lead-foot on the outside, I have to improvise a little. I can line up my jab, pull counter their cross, and I can fire crosses to the body quite well. If they're taller, I can look for an overhand or tuck up and get on the inside. I don't like the idea that we're hopeless if you can't get your foot outside theirs. If I'm landing my jab clean and they're respecting it, working a similar sort of 'Smash' is actually quite effective. The straight line of it, and the fact that my shoulder is normally in line with their chin, not their hand, means I can fire straight up the middle with it from about a foot and a half away and land before they do.

I throw a lot of inverted one-twos and a lot of one-two-ones, but if the angles right, I can change that to a one-two then stick a long lead uppercut on the end and it's always a surprising shot. Especially because a lot of the lads in my gym like to slip to the right, then the left, then duck, almost always in that specific pattern.

A lead uppercut was actually the punch which led to the stoppage in my first amateur fight. He leant over his lead leg too much, and sort of fell forward with a cross, and as I slipped his cross, I came up with an uppercut as he stumbled into it. It hurt him bad enough for me to follow up on him and get his dad to stop it. Although this wasn't an elongated one, just a standard lead-uppercut counter.

I think Tyson’s power was more balanced in both hands while Ruddock might have had slightly more explosiveness in his left only.

I'd say Razor hit harder with one shot,,,but his delivery system was awful and it seemed to get worse as his career progressed.

Smith was not an elite opponent at the time, but he was a very durable big guy and I believe Ruddock was the only person to flat out knock him out, not stop him on cuts or on his feet. Joe Frazier was in Smith's corner too I believe.

One of the signs of a big puncher is that you can KO a guy with a solid chin who is rarely knocked out. Smith took bombs from Bruno, Tyson, Holmes, Witherspoon, and weaver.

Another sign of a good puncher is that you can stop a ranked opponent. Dokes was ranked #3 in the world when Ruddock splattered him and had been in there with some of the biggest names in the division.

Tyson praised his power and respected it, always keeping a high guard and slipping the signature punch or blocking it whenever he saw it after getting nailed by it. Tyson knows a thing or two about power.

He had Morrison down and badly hurt, but gassed before he could finish the job.

He didn't really manage to land anything solid on Lewis and got taken out early so we don't know how effective his power would be.

Tyson broke Ruddocks jaw in fight 2 and other.

In your opinion who hits the hardest?

This sounds right. Mike's right uppercut was worlds more awe-inspiring, but mostly when preceded by the right hook to the body. Ruddock's left "smash" was harder than probably anything Mike ever threw (except the punch he landed on Robin Givens).
