McGregor is done as a top contender in UFC. He can move on now to fighting the Paul brothers.

    He wont retire.

Too many idiot fanboys are always ready and willing to pay to watch him.

He could lose the next 1000 fights and his pea-brain moron fans would still be convinced he can come back and dominate.

He arguably did more for the sport than any man in the last 15+ years. He’s brought mainstream appeal beyond any other fighters wildest dreams. Win or lose, his fights NEVER disappoint from an entertainment value. His run for a few years (pre-Mayweather) was undeniably impressive. He clearly took the organization by storm. Never shied away from the top competition or revenge his losses.

I can see why people want him to be at the top again. It’s simply better for the sport.

No, he was simply marketed better than anyone else.

...before him, the UFC put very little effort into promotions and marketing compared to now.

Conor's popularity showed them just how much the average casual fan can be milked of their money.

It's got nothing to do with Conor being an elite athlete.

The UFC need to market other fighters properly now that Khabib has gone and Conor is totally shot and washed up.

Was he? His work at 145 can’t be denied. At 155, yes.

He marketed himself. His pressers are legendary.

Him sparking elite guys at 145 is what propelled him into superstardom, not the UFC marketing him.

Let’s be real, his style sells. His mouth made him the richest, but if he talked all that smack and then wrestled like Khabib, he wouldn’t be 25% as popular as he became (see: Khabib).

Starching guys like Aldo gains respect. Becoming double champ gains respect. Crossing over to boxing to face the biggest money-maker ever gains respect.

It’s really hard to market guys that don’t appeal to the casuals. Those are the ones that make guys multimillionaires, not diehards. They just aren’t going to pay $70 to watch guys wrestle on the floor.

I’d say Conor heals up, comes back and does the trilogy with Diaz whilst Porier gets his title shot finally. If both win, would anyone be surprised if they did it again and Conor got a title shot?

The broken ankle thing just gives Conor and his fans even more delusions that he can come back.

    His body is broken!!!!

You can't put that much coke up your nose or that much alcohol through your system and expect to be fine. He is a walking disaster waiting to happen; physically and mentally.

"Hopium" a terrible thing and takes you away from reality.
