New teeth + texan accent. He been talking similar to this prior to the crash. It seems a lot of people have never heard a texan talk
Mouth piece came out. You can hear the commentators saying it and you can see him looking for it and then his corner picks it up off of the ground. Spence is fine.
He definitely seems to talk slower (heavy tongue is a good way to put it, never heard that before) I was actually just thinking that myself when I saw an interview yesterday. But I thought the same thing before the Danny fight n he did fine, so. Idk.
It's the teeth. And please let us not somewhat make this as an excuse. Fact is he looked great vs Danny and claimed that he was merely at 80% then. So, no, just no. There is no excuse for not giving Pac props if he even makes the fight competitive, let alone win it.
Obviously they saw something in Spence that caught the attention of Pacquiao, Spence might not be the the same since the crash, I'm surprised he's still fighting because that was a terrible accident.
His voice sounds different now. I picked Garcia over him thinking he could not be the same after the accident but he looked normal
danny had just scraped his eye with the tape when he slid that jab across his face at 138. spence is in his prime and has never, ever, been out of shape for a fight, or had a bad performance. manny is getting in there with the truth.
For me, it's what a fighter says more than how they say it. If Spence jnr is rational, articulate, but his speech is off, then it's more likely an issue with the mouth and not the brain.
Im tired of hearing about Crawford wanting to fight Spence. I hope it happens but I am reluctant to believe it will until I see the posters, contract signed etc…
If he loses to Pac(not gifted decision), than he should retire. He is solid boxer, that it. nothing more than that. nothing special.
I think that's a bit unfair. Spence jnr is more than just a "solid boxer". He's arguably the best welterweight on earth, which isn't something that happens to an average fighter. To me, solid is how you describe a journeyman, or a fringe world level gatekeeper - not an undefeated champion. Put another way, Chisora is "solid", Josh Kelly is "solid". They are "nothing special" as you put it, and are solid enough...but (at least not yet as far as Kelly) they are not elite world level. Errol undoubtedly is. Now, if you want to make a case for the welterweight division being light on quality, that's a different argument. Just my opinion.
