The fight with Wilder has been postponed until October, AFTER the AJ/Usyk fight. I think if AJ beats Usyk, Fury will vacate his WBC belt, not bother with the Wilder rematch, because no one ****ing wants it, and then fight AJ instead. Wilder will rim himself because he thinks Fury ran scared. He created excuse for his last loss, and he was already making excuses for a potential loss in the future saying Fury was planning to cheat. Him and his fan boys will never accept defeat, but it doesn't matter. AJ vs Fury is the fight everyone wants to see, and just because it's not the undisputed fight we want, doesn't mean it wont still bring in the same crowd. It will make no difference really I think. Whoever wins that fight will be the king in everyone's eyes regardless. Then the WBC should order Wilder and Whyte to fight for the WBC title, and then the winner can fight Joshua or Fury for the undisputed.
WBC won’t order anyone to do anything. Wilder held the belt for years and just fought against whoever he wanted. Fury has held the belt for 18months now and not had a single defence. Also Fury has already ran away from the Joshua fight once this year so he is hardly then going to go chasing it 6 months later.
I'd hope Fury does this but I think he wil fight Wilder and then fight someone like Kabayel before retiring. As Hearn said look at the ticket sale were doing so poor for this, nobody want to see this except insane LDBC Wilder fans. If Fury did retire the WBC would protect Wilder from whyte again and put Wilder against a not so high risk opponent.
If to compare with this beauty: at CW WBC champ in Bellew mandatory was Briedis, Bellew vacated belt and get honorable belt from them and again: WBC CW champion in Makabu had in the ring 40 y.o Durodola for defense fight? while the same Durodola being 35 y.o had been beaten by Briedis and despite he had impessively beated Kudra, he had been stopped in their rematch. Now Durodola is 40 y.o and still enough good for Makabu to fight with. Ofc in real life WBC command only their ranking and their belt not ppl lifes here around.
I disagree. What we really need is for Fury to demolish Wilder once and for all. Definitively, unequivocally, beat him so there can be no more excuses. Then, Wilder will have to do one of two things. 1) finally grow up and admit he was beaten by the better man 2) continue to make excuses and become such a laughing stock even his most loyal fans will drop him Then, assuming it goes to plan and Joshua also gets past Usyk, we might actually get the fight we all want to see. Unfortunately, I have this nagging feeling things will going wrong and we'll never see it. Just how we'll never see Wilder face Joshua. The fact Wilder and Joshua were both champions for years and they never faced each other is a disgrace, and shows just how dysfunctional this sport is. I couldn't live with myself if that were my legacy. Knowing I never really proved myself against the best guys, and that many fans think I ducked other fighters, would bother me as a real fighting man who believes in honour and sacrifice, in striving to be the best, of facing the best no matter the risk because that's what greatness is all about.
its just getting embarrassing now between wilder and fury put up the top 10 defences combinded for both lofl your all being mugged right off
I mentioned in another thread about the embarrassing quality of Fury and Wilder's last 10 opponents. For a former WBC champion, and former lineal...blah blah blah...their recent opponents have been gimme fights and bums.
and the fury wilder fans love being taken for a ride then make every excuse and the i dont mind the mockery of our soort they make then its whah in boxing the best dont fight the best withbout fans there aint a sport yet said fans make it all possible to talk shyte and not fight or fight bertos stivernes are piantas of the world get to frook
Funny how Wilder could avoid mandatories at a whim but Fury is suddenly beholden by the WBC to a fight that no one wants to see.
That's because the WBC wanted at least one belt held (hostage) by an American. Now, it's about getting it back.
I can’t see Fury wanting to go straight into a fight with AJ after 2 years out of the ring. He’ll surely have to have some sort of decent level tune up at the very least, he’s quite publicly spoken about the dangers of ring rust. Hopefully Fury beats Wilder in October to set up the big one next year but if Fury Wilder III falls through I think that’s actually the final nail in the coffin for us ever seeing Fury v AJ, which would be a travesty. I’m looking forward to Joshua v Usyk but beyond that I’m losing all interest in the heavyweight division now. I’m a massive Fury fan but I’m starting to think there’s a chance he won’t fight again full stop, it’s getting boring now all the will they, won’t they stuff, postponements, fake announcement, broken promises.
Oh I know that's the case, Sulaiman is the slimiest little cretin in boxing and that's hard to be when Gilberto Mendoza exists.
