Why do people say Usyk is too small for Joshua and Fury but still favour guys like Ali and Holmes?

Due to the law of diminishing returns this scenario is very unlikely.

We just need to get away from this notion that size is the be-all-end-all of heavyweight boxing, because it isn't.

Hey, Bazza, it is the big draw of the heavyweight division.

The size of these guys is what draws in the casuals.

    I'm not so sure.

Look at guys of the past like Valuev, or Fury today.

    They are already huge.

It wouldn't take much more for big men to tip 300 pounds and cross the 7ft threshold.

As another poster intimated, we have huge basketball guys, many of them who are very muscular, who are agile (obviously), and have the cardio to run about for a full game.

It's not so much whether we'll see these one offs, as I think that's a given - it's more whether the average heavyweight will end up 6ft 8in and nearly 300 pounds.

How long, if at all, will it take to get to that point, and for us to see these giants at the upper end of the scale?

I see no reason why, at least in the short to medium term, it can't happen.

    Obviously, there are limits.

At some point humans will reach that point you mention where it just isn't biologically possible.

    Nostalgia.

Bookies will not favour Ali/Holmes against Fury. Only boxing hipsters (who don't box) do.

Norton and Foreman forced Ali on the ropes. Fury will Cunningham Ali.

Yes because Steve Cunningham is as mobile, slick, and as quick as Ali, also didn't Fury go life and death with Cunningham ? Pretty sure he dot dropped and hurt bad in that fight.

He did not go "life and death" with Cunningham, who happens to be roughly the same size as Ali but packs a much bigger punch.

Fury was clowning Cunningham when he ate an overhand right which sent him to the canvas.

Fury got dropped, got up immediately then brutally knocked Cunningham out five rounds later after ragdolling him.

Ali fanatics are quick to brush away the knockdown scored by Henry Cooper, who would be a lightheavy by modern standards.

I did not rest my argument on Cunningham's slickness. I reminded you what happens when a guy the size of Fury corners a cruiserweight.

it is when you have a 6'8" 270 pound man like Fury who moves better than smaller men and can grind you down.

    You can't overcome that physicality.

How does a 220 pound man who is equally skilled as a 270 pound man win? he doesn't, he accepts the physical difference, mentally quits then physically quits.

Great, i have seen so many ridiculous comparisons here regarding boxers but comparing Cunningham to Ali is just... I honestly don't know what to say.
