Seen some news that they could fight late this year?

I think Whyte would score a couple of knockdowns in this fight considered how flat footed and motionless Ruiz tends to be, especially seeing as his performance vs Arreola was concerning.

I'd go for Whyte to win by staying behind his jab and landing some hooks and scoring a knockdown or two.

Whyte's team seem very confident and keen to make this fight. Ruiz was Whyte first choice on both Povetkin fights.

Whyte certainly carries the KO power, uses the jab well and goes to body better than any other HW.

Ruiz on the other hand, his super quick hand speed, toughness come forward pressure will cause anyone problems.

A tough fight to call between two top HWs.

However I think Ruiz will end up fighting a much easier opponent in Ortiz.

I think Whyte will sit behind that jab and be defensive. Ruiz has one mode. Sit in the firing line, eat your shots and counter.

Don't think he'll beat Whyte. I see Ruiz walking into some nasty hooks.

Fast hands Ruiz Jr wins via KO late.

Whyte’s chin is failing him and the burrito monster eats him up and spits him out.

Whyte must think he can get to Ruiz after watching Arreola drop him, a not unrealistic assumption maybe.

You see those catch left hooks 40 yo binman Arreola landed three times on Ruiz... Whyte lands one of them Ruiz is out...

Tough fight to pick a winner as both have looked beatable in recent fights.

Ruiz can walk down Whyte who has poor movement. Whyte will need to be patient like in the Chisora rematch, if he's overly aggressive of defensively irresponsible Ruiz will punish him with counters.

But Ruiz needs to be careful too, he doesn't have the head movement Chisora had to walk down Whyte, he'll be open to being countered himself as he comes in and if he walks in to a left hook counter from Whyte he could be in trouble as Arreola showed Ruiz's chin is far from unbreakable if you can stand with him.

I'm thinking in a tough fight the more durable Ruiz comes out on top but Whyte's proven me wrong more than once, so wouldn't be shocked if he did win, but for me right now I favour Ruiz. I'll be rooting for Whyte though if this fight happens.

I think the blob catches up with Whyte later rounds, and finishes the poor fool. Andy was so weight drained against Arreola. That diet almost killed him.

Ruiz doesn't really want to fight Whyte so this is a dead story. He will fight Ortiz (maybe) and then call out AJ. And he would really only fight Ortiz, because Ortiz is old and hasn't fought in a long while. Imagine Whyte hitting Ruiz to the body? All that belly for him to beat up on. Whyte would be the wrong style for Ruiz and Ruiz knows this. That's why if the fight would come up, Ruiz would price himself out.

D Whyte will pull him into the late rounds and work that soft midsection.

I can see either guy getting dropped once if not twice but I think Whyte gets a MD

Gotta give Whyte his props for risking it TWICE. Let's be honest though, he might aswell be ranked 100th he's never gonna get his shot with the WBC.

Not gonna lie, I think Whyte's chin is a bit suspect, but Ruiz isn't invincible either.
I've wanted to see this one for a minute. I favor Ruiz, especially if he can land the uppercut, DW's kryptonite!

Don't see it going 12 either way.

I fancy Andy Ruiz Jr in this match up.
