List the top 20 heavies for any year during the 70`s from when Ali beat Foreman to 1980 while Holmes was champ? How would Ruiz have fared during any from 74-80 against all top 20 fighters from any of those years? I feel fightes were killers fromthat era in general and faster although boxing is now stating to rapidly improve from the lull it was in 10 or so years ago, but how much depth of talent was there in that era at heavyweight?

On the basis you are only as good as your last fight he'd be a fringe man although he'd probably still knock out Leon Spinks.

Here's an idea, why don't YOU list the top 20 heavyweights year by year, and then we can pick a year and answer the question.

Ali had a far better chin than AJ, Shavers hit harder than Ruiz does.

Not going by his last bout, he was wide open and was floored, Frazier had better head movement and landed more hooks.

Norton and Holmes had won vs Ruiz, Ali from 70 ies: it depends from officiating and judges cards, we do know refs and cards and in Norton and Frazier fights vs Ali, LOL.

Foreman and Shavers had theoretically been a barn burner like 50/50 fights I think.

I feel Ali deserved to win his rematch v Frazier, even though he clinched a lot he managed to out hook Frazier on the inside, he threw more hooks in that bout than he did in any other and had Frazier badly hurt in the second round only for the ref to seperate them for no reason at all, like the ref that pulled G-man off Benn when he had him finished on the ropes.

Well, I'm friendly:) with clinchers - boxers and a lot.

It depends from fight's referee to be fair here.

So if in traditional british souce Ali is 1-2 vs Frazier, if with more lenient ref then it might be a draw on cards etc alike in one fight vs Frazier and then for me this might be 1-1-1 Ali vs Frazier and for sure I agree only with my opiniion that Ali is 1-2 vs Norton with 0 doubts and for serious reason never had fought vs Foreman again.

Ali was damn great in 60 ies and with best legs for CW, HW division ever damn and sorry , Ali from 70 ies not likely might had beated up prime "puny CW " in Huck for example. Ali from 70 ies was iron chinned dirty boxer in former ATG not anything more here.
Wlad holds ppl? Dirty Ivan Drago enemy!
    Ali? It is cool.

Btw I think 220 lbs Dempsey version too had finished Ali from 70 ies in distance with a glance, King's cards will not help here.
