Tomorrow night, co-main event of the Jermell Charlo vs. Brian Carlos Castaño triple-header broadcast on Showtime. At stake will be the WBA interim lightweight title, Romero's first defense. Yigit is ranked WBA #14. Making his second world title challenge, and first since dropping to from 140 to 135lb, the Swede (a former Euro light welterweight titlist) will be the first southpaw faced by the Nevadan incumbent since Nicolas Atilio Velazquez, and just the second professionally in all. postscript: I really can't decide whose nickname is cringier.
Ouch, my bad. I would have to say Rollies is worse. Perhaps only because it is so close to a legendary nickname, Rollie Fingers.
Let's hope Yigit didn't even try to make the weight and just came in to beat the living crap out of Romero.
Eh, that's be nice. I probably won't even watch this card tbh (RBR is all you @CST80; besides, I know you want to cheer on your boy from Brazil ). I fear that Charlo is either going to either get a robbery decision or stop Castaño. Even if he doesn't, stylistically it just doesn't seem like a fun match (or card) to me, and I'm going to be glued to Slammiversary instead (then MITB on Sunday, big-time mark-out weekend for the other squared circle).
Ya I hear you.. but I really think both Castano and Yigit is in for a chance and Aleem can punch a bit although I think he will get starched badly
Looks that yeah. 2 weeks notice is clear cherry picking proof for Floyd Jr fighter Rollies. Will be developed like Clenelo and like Tank, maybe even with easier fights. Rollies will be next cash cow. To milk casuals with him looks is good idea.
