Apparently Andy Ruiz is looking to negotiate a fight with either Whyte or Ortiz for September. These would both be intriguing matchups that I would rate as 50-50 either opponent.
Either fight would be a competitive match up so whichever fight happens it's good for the fans. Whyte should be his first option. It's the far more lucrative match up and if he beats him he earns Whyte's WBC interim title which should see him as the next mandatory. But we know how PBC operate, they often prefer matching up their fighters with other PBC fighters so wouldn't shock me if they go with Ortiz which is still a good fight and we would finally get to see Ortiz in with another good heavyweight not named Wilder.
A lot of "hot air" as usual. He will bring a lot of attention, claiming he will fight this he will fight that before ending up taking on another beer drinker or an old man who even at his best wasn't anything special. Personally, I will believe ruiz is fighting Whyte or ortiz when he finally put his feets in the ring with one of them and especially after the bell rings. Oh and the same thing can be said about the other so called upcoming battle, such as Fury-Wilder, Wilder-Whyte,Fury-AJ and so on....
Yeah, when he says 'Whyte or Ortiz' we can just strike the first two words. He drops Whyte's name in as well to suggest he's looking at the best fighters not currently tied to a fight, but we know he'll stay in house.
That's the most likely scenario but if Hearn throws enough cash at them they might allow it to happen as the Arreola fight might make them have 2nd thoughts about Ruiz's long term prospects. They might see parallels with Kownacki who was their previous rising hope and decide to cash out before Ruiz loses to someone he shouldn't. But I doubt Hearn will offer the kind of money they will be looking for. Whyte doesn't need Ruiz, he's the bigger draw and has the interim title so there's no real incentive to throw a load of cash to secure a Ruiz fight. Chances are it will be Ruiz/Ortiz with the winner then getting the backing from PBC for a push towards a title shot.
He should beat Ortiz who is absolutely ancient . Whyte would be a 50:50. Good fight. So will never happen.
Whyte would definitely be worth a watch and normally is entertaining. Coming to the end of his career but does love a slug out. Might play into Ruiz's hands, I'd watch that tho
Hope its ortiz. I still say wilder was a horrible style match up for him...thats why he was picked. But he,d be a nightmare for the wrong opponent. If you come forward throwing at him he,d still quickly become a difficult fight for anyone. They,ve wasted his best years fighting guys that were bad style match ups for him like scuba steve.
These crusty vets will feint with a queso fundido con chorizo and then catch him with the big right for the KO.
