There's too many Casuals who think they know how to score prize fights. They don't get it. Nothing wrong with thinking Castaño did enough to win, I had the same feeling after the 12 rounds but I have no problem with the draw given how well Charlo fought down the stretch, how at times he used the jab effectively, and how close and competitive it was overall.

The flaw with Jermell is how he don't know how to fight on the ropes, doesn't have tight enough defense, and waits too long to throw punches sometimes and gives away rounds.

Robbery. Charlo won decisively only rounds 2 and 10, i also gave him 8 and 11, thats it. 8-4 for Castano. Americans should be happy thats all major fights happening on their soil.

That's the first I heard of someone giving him Round 8. If you give him Round 8 that opens up a lot of avenues for Charlo. All 3 judges gave Charlo rounds 5 and 12, so those combined with your 2, 8, 10 and 11 is a draw. The judge that scored it 117-111 for Charlo did give him the 8th round like you did, as well as rounds 4, 5, and 6.

so what, youre just gonna add up every round any random person gives him to demonstrate how 1 person could have seen everything each individual saw?

Charlo got embarrassed, his only chance was in round 10, Castano owned him. Good thing for Uncle Al. I know you sympathize with robbery beneficiary's, its like a brotherhood. Bringes back lot's of memories and emotions. A Band of brother's trying to justify a flat out robbery.

Well the fact that he gave Charlo the 8th round shows that he scored that round the same as the judge who scored it 117-111. It's all about putting the pieces of the puzzle together, to see how many fans agree with how the judges scored certain rounds.

You're in the "every decision's a robbery" brotherhood, we're in the "understanding how prize fights are scored" brotherhood.

I gave him round 8 with question mark, after round 2 he lost 5 rounds in a row and I felt bad for him, hahah. He looked a bit better in round 8, but I can see you ( and most fans ) giving Castano this round easily.

different people concentrate at different intensities, or focus on different things. i notice that many people dont understand how the whole dance works together. so they focus on what one fighter is doing, usually their favorite, and they notice every shot they land, and every shot they blocked, but they only notice what the other guy is doing peripherally. you have to look at what both guys are doing, and how both guys are reacting to what the other guy is doing. that tells you what is happening. that tells you which guy is offstep in the dance.
but i dont see what the big deal is about just admitting he got beat tonight. it happens. why the need to mitigate the damage by dressing up the truth. what does it serve, in this context?

Yeah I just rewatched rounds 4 and 5. Round 4 was a definite Castaño round. He landed a nice body shot early on in the round and Charlo wasn't landing clean enough this round. Round 5 though was a Charlo round. He controlled Castaño with the jab throughout the entire round. Castaño barely threw a punch in the first minute while Charlo was active with the jab. Castaño got into the round later in the round landed some decent shots including a nice right hook late in the round with Charlo against the ropes, but Charlo definitely landed more punches this round and had better technique, he showed some good elusive upper body movement when he was against the ropes. Round 5 Charlo actually did a good job of covering up when on the ropes and picking off shots, and controlling Castaño with the jab. Charlo also showcased some nice footwork this round, Charlo landed a nice counter hook at one point. So round 5 was a pretty clear Charlo round, no wonder all 3 judges gave that round to Charlo, ya'll need to take another look at that round.

I gave him round 8, because it was for me just a buffer round, who knows maybe there was a round between 3 and 7 thats Charlo won, so i just gave him round 8. Thats why i put question mark in my notes. Anyways, draw is a robbery for me.
Thats why i gave 8 to Charlo, cuz its was for me a buffer round, i was thinking "who knows maybe there was a round between 3 and 7 thats Charlo won", so i just gave him round 8 to be more realistic. Thats why i put question mark in my notes.
