Round 6 was a very close round. Charlo started the round the more active fighter, controlling range with the jab. Many Charlo jabs landed through the guard this round. Weren't eye catching but he was finding a home for a lot of those jabs. In the middle of the round Castaño exploded with a great one two on Charlo that caused Charlo to crash back to the ropes, but then Charlo fought back with a combo of his own.

This was a round that I thought Charlo was ahead until the late stages of the round. Castaño landed a series of ferocious shots with Charlo on the ropes, some of which Charlo blocked but at the very end of the round some of those shots connected. Round 6 could have really gone either way, this was not a clear Castaño round by any stretch but he may have done just enough to nick the round right at the end with how he finished it, but until that last barrage of punches by Castaño, Charlo had a pretty good round going, with all the jabs, and when he was tagged he returned fire with good shots of his own.

So after studying these rounds, Round 4 for Castaño, Round 5 for Charlo, and Round 6 was very even and could go either way, with Charlo ahead in the round slightly with jabs getting through the guard and an even number of clean power shots until a late series of punches by Castaño in the final 30 seconds may have been enough to edge it. Round 6 is a definite candidate for an even round but there's nothing wrong with scoring this round for either fighter.

Yeah most of these rounds were close, I think you're just prefering the work for Castaño. I could see scoring rounds 3 and 4 to Castaño, then rounds 5 and 6 to Charlo. Round 5 was a clearer Charlo round than 6, round 6 is harder to score but debatable.

Rounds 2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12 are all possible Charlo rounds. I think the toss up rounds are rounds 6 and 8. If you split those two you get a draw.

Well in fairness, I'm going through the pivotal rounds again since the first time I watched it wasn't really scoring it too closely. I just went back and watched rounds 4, 5 and 6, and it's apparent that rounds 5 and 6 were good rounds for Charlo. Charlo had the better technique in rounds 5 and 6 and he was the more active fighter. He was the one staying busy with the jab. Castaño in all seriousness took most of the first minute off in these rounds and just acted as a swarmer occasionally throwing wild shots with Charlo near the ropes most of them getting blocked. It's no wonder the judges gave Charlo rounds 5 and 6, he outlanded Castaño in these rounds, more jabs, and an even number of power shots. Charlo blocked most of the swarming shots from Castaño when Charlo was backed up to the ropes near the end of the round. Some got through but not enough to offset the jabs. The best clean shots from Castaño was a one two mid way through the 6th round, which backed up Charlo, but Charlo returned fire with clean shots of his own right after that to even the score. I think fans are just scoring rounds based on rooting hard for Castaño and only focusing on Castaño's wild swarming shots when he pinned Charlo on the ropes and weren't paying enough attention to Charlo's technique, blocking, # of jabs landed, and his ring generalship.

    Micro analysing is pointless

you must giving charlo a lot of jabs i didnt give him. castano was doing great at blocking with his forearm. which goes to what i posted earlier. in the dance, charlo should have dug hooks around his forearms after fainting the jab, as the next step in the dance. reacting to what castano was doing. thats what you see elite fighters do, if you understand the dance. its practically a free shot, as you cant throw a ko punch from having your forearms together in front of your face.

Early on in rounds 5 and 6 he was blocking most Charlo's jabs, but as these rounds went on they started to get through the guard. And the problem for Castaño in both rounds 5 and 6 was that he did next to nothing in the first minute. Mell was the only one punching early on in these rounds. Once Castaño started to get going he had to play catchup that's why he was trying to overwhelming him with wild shots against the ropes. But Charlo kept his composure in these rounds, blocked most of the shots and came back with shots of his own. Make no mistake about it, rounds 5 and 6 were good rounds for Charlo.

Dude why are you even bothering with this guy.. I've tried debating rounds with hin several times before but he just denies reality and exaggerates stuff that isn't there. When you call stuff out on him he'll just either ignore/forget about or just spin it in a different light even if reality says otherwise

Let him live in his own imaginary world, there is no help for him

Just watched it back. I can’t have it that Charlo is any good or up there P4P, I don’t get what he’s actually effective at. I think it was close-ish but clear for Castano.

If you think it was 7-5 then all it takes is 1 round being switched to be a draw. I gave Charlo 5 rounds clear and it’s possible he may have nicked another one to make it a draw. The 117-111 score for Charlo was way off. You will note that the judge who gave it to Castano only give it him by 1 round. Bro as for bias I am not a Charlo fan though I do respect his trainer Derrick James a lot.
