Good boxer nearly always beats a good puncher, absolutely no way Foreman avoids that jab and right hand from Lewis as he tries to close the distance. Lewis may not have had an ATG chin but remember he only lost when he underestimated an opponent and didn't prepare properly, that wouldn't happen with a puncher like Foreman. Lewis TKO 5
I think if Foreman comes out and uses his big jab he has an excellent shot to win. He didnt always use it though it was one of the best jabs in heavyweight history. He could potentially nullify or at least make Lennox hesitate to throw his right. Foreman brought an uncommon intensity and rage to the ring. Its one thing to talk about surviving his storm but its another to actually do it. If he knocks Lennox down once its probably over. Foreman by knockout inside 6
I've got Lewis, but he'd need to be at his best, which I think he would be for this one. He could get caught early, he'd need to play it safe until he could wear Foreman down. Mid-late KO for Lewis is my best guess.
I go with Lewis by TKO The key is expectations of power....Lewis like he did with very reputable hard hitter plays it smart and uses his physical size to his advantage and puts the hurt on Big George....George started swelling easier as he got older and its swelling that Lewis creates and possibly some knockdowns with huge rights IMO he was KO'd because he was dominating the fighters or felt he could and got a little reckless.....his chin was fine he got hit both times from two very powerful big heavyweights with homerun shots of which could have sparked any heavyweight in history as both Rahman and McCall were very dangerous but hot and cold fighters
I pick Foreman. It's not just that Lewis was stopped by McCall and Rahman. Vitali had him in some trouble early. He was also knocked around by Briggs early. Briggs on the other hand couldn't even move Foreman in his prior fight. And that was a 48-year old version of Big George. Now, imagine the 24-year old Foreman throwing down on Lewis. George more than wobbles Lewis, he puts him down and out for the count.
Difficult fight to call but I'd give Lewis the edge due to his technical superiority although there's also the scenario where Foreman clobbers Lewis into submission as he did with Norton. Like I said a tough call.
It's just a matter of time for Lewis as an early pro. Lewis was too unpolished and brash not to try to punch it out a bit. Foreman would clobber the hell out of him, TKO in 4 at the most. Steward-era Lewis, a far more cautious and overall better boxer, is more interesting. If we're talking the guy who revenged his loss against Rahman, even prime George might have some problems there... As long as Lewis doesn't get hit too flush, and from what I've seen he was schooled enough by Steward for that not being completely inevitable. George could often be wide in his shots, especially as a fight progressed (and...let's face it, generally).
Lennox cuts him down with a right in about the 7th. George wouldn’t be able to counter him at all and isn’t matching him in any category bar chin and power (though the power gap isn’t as great as we sometimes pretend) Foreman was 6ft3 220lbs he is not Hercules this time.
