    This is going to be a great fight, I haven't seen the odds but I will be putting money on Usyk at plus money. Too bad it will likely be in front of a sparse crowd, because too many people can't think good and are ruining it for everyone else.

    usyk hasn’t exactly burst on to the heavyweight scene as people thought he would

    True, but that's partly because he's not really been active enough...

    His win against Chisora shows he's got potential in the HW division, but it could've been a more dominant display.

    If you believe, as I do, that Usyk moving up to heavy is mostly financially motivated, then he'd be mad to go around fighting all the top contenders and potentially losing his mandatory status and losing the fans belief that he can actually beat Joshua would both work against that money motive. His stock was already about as high as it's going to be, so his position in negotiations wasn't going to get much stronger either... In a risk/reward sense, it never made sense to go in and fight everyone with a pulse.

    We might argue that that's not what we as fans want to see, but it would be perfectly justifiable financially.

    Also, they surely cant go back into lockdown by then.

    By the time this fight takes place, everyone in the UK who wants to be fully vaccinated will be.

    They have no excuse aymore for their lockdowns.

    Think they’ve capped it at 60k which although is below capacity it is still higher than anyone else would bring to that venue.

    Oh I don't doubt they could pack the place. I am just skeptical that a 60k crowd will be allowed with the direction that things are headed in.

    Don't agree there'll be another lock down here, but even if there is, September is a good month for slating this fight as Covid will hit back hard in the winter months. If the fight date was November/December what you say would start to make sense.

    Anyway, it's pretty clear the Government have gone all-in on herd immunity...

    Yes maybe but hopefully not as more vaccinations roll out. Have to see what happens this week or so with infection rates after the euros.
