I said "pretty much beats everyone", which means he might also lose a few.

Moorer vs Ring ranked fighters: 2-3.

    Rosenbloom's record vs Lewis: 3-2.

Sounds about right to me....Rosenbloom might well be the 175lb classes H2H dark horse.

Irrelevant. This is about who'd win H2H, not about who's greater. Moorer poleaxes him.

Oh it's irrelevant now? It didn't seem like you thought that way before I gave you the numbers. Anywho, Moorer KOing Rosenbloom is highly unlikely. Rosenbloom was an incredibly tricky fighter with an absolute iron chin. Two KO losses in 300 fights - one while well before being fully grown, and the other right at the end of his career vs a collosal puncher who he'd already gone the distance with - and fighting incredible for throughout from two extremely strong eras.

Moorer was getting out-boxed by an ancient Leslie Stewart... Rosenbloom would soundly out-box and out-work Moorer.

I don't think Moorer looks half as good on tape as others do. He looks like a massive athletic puncher, which is what he was. He doesn't have a particular advanced skillset, nor was he tested in the ways which truly seperate boys from men. He was tested at heavy (and failed), but that's a different ballpark - and I doubt he was any better in the intangible department at 175, and his chin would always falter against the hardest punchers, even at light-heavy. He had a low workrate, was limited to just setting up and looking for KOs, and ultimately, lacking in overall achievements. We already know everything we need to about Michael Moorer from his fights at heavyweight. And we know he wasn't nearly as good as Rosenbloom or Lewis. He beat one ranked man at 175, and let's be honest, nobody's writing home about beating Frankie Swindell.

Either way, it's a lot weirder to think somebody whose record vs Ring ranked fighters (across both his heavyweight, and light-heavyweight tenures) is worse than Rosenbloom's record vs ONE all-time great, and equal to Lewis'. You have two unequivocal all-time greats, vs somebody whose competition was barely European level.

I'll rewatch it tonight, I don't have a card handy.

But as for your point about inexperience, it's irrelevant. He left light-heavyweight at 23 years old, and had only had about 20 fights by the time he moved up. His best LHW performance came the same year, and if anything, being younger when he was cutting that much weight was nothing but an advantage.

As for Stewart, it's obvious he was past his best. If he wasn't, you'd have to concede that he was losing to Hembrick and Czyz in his prime, and that he'd just been annihilated by Lalonde a few fights prior. I mean, whether or not you think he was prime shouldn't impact this at all. These are his results around the Moorer fight, showing his level for that contest. It really only impacts on how good you view Leslie at his best, whether he was better earlier, or just never very good.

Either way, it's damning for Moorer.

Likewise, and in fairness, I haven't watched Moorer (or any LHW, actually) in a while. I'll revisit his performances vs Swindell, Delgado and Stewart tonight and keep an open mind.

With Maxie's close to 300 pro bouts, many against stellar opposition, they are of course not even in the same galaxy, if we're talking resume/legacy/greatness, or whatever you want to call it.

However, (unless I have misunderstood something) this is about H2H, right? So I find it a bit strange, how some people can proclaim, that Rosenbloom was much better than Moorer... and would "soundly out-box and out-work" him. This without ever having seen a glimpse of Rosenbloom on film! Even just a small clip of him fighting, would help us better understand, what kind of boxer we're dealing with.

But with 0 footage, I can't pick one over the other - as I don't think, that would be fair to either of them.

Rounds one through eight were closely contested but once the contest hit double figures and especially in the final three rounds, Michael Moorer dropped off dramatically and allowed Max Rosenbloom to canter to a clear unanimous decision. Rosenbloom, who clowned Moorer int he first round, seemed cautious after being clocked with a heavy right hand to the body in the second. Moorer kept the pressure on and continued to target Rorsenbloom's body as the smaller man continued to give ground through seven. Rosenbloom kept the pace fierce, however, and the later the fight went the more sapped Moorer seemed, perhaps having struggled with the weight.

No film. lol the real question is would Maxie survive one of the best punchers at LHW ever a 200lbs Southpaw who was once called
"The most violent man In boxing" Well more then likely. What we do know without a shred of doubt is Maxie had a freakish chin.
