The problem was , it was not a close fight. Castano won and was robbed.

Personally I have not seen anyone say Mell got beaten by a
nobody from Argentina. Mell got beat by the better fighter on the night night PERIOD!! It really wasnt that close either.
They didnt do their homework Castano came to win & he did. All credit to him. If only the Charlo's were as great as they think they are.

Three. You can finangle and spin to try to give Charlo a round or two, but if you have to try that hard, you can call undesided rounds even. To me the rounds were easy to score. It's not good to continue to enable robberies. There is nothing wrong with losing a 9-3 fight against a superior apponent. I think Mell is a bit overrated, he was recently defeated by Harrison who lost to Willie Nelson and just fought to a draw vs Goodfella Parrella.

But there is shame in getting a draw you did not deserve, and he and his team know it.

"Brian Castano, I'll tell you one thing. For me, you won," Canelo said on a FaceTime call with Castano on Monday.

"They [the judges] saw a draw, but for me, you won, you b------, what a great fight.

    "I congratulate you very much."

Castano replied by saying: "Thank you very much, brother."

There is, however, shame in running around with your twin screaming "LIONS ONLY" and proclaiming yourselves the "future of boxing", and then needing to benefit from gift-wrapped judging courtesy of PBC to get past Austin Trout and Vanes Martirosyan, losing to Harrison, only snatching victory from the jaws of defeat via come-from-behind KO after getting shut out for several rounds by John Alexis Jackson, and then needing yet another gift to eke out a draw with a Castaño.

Mind you, every name I've mentioned is world class or near enough to it - but if they (along with Lubin, Rosario and Rosado) are the best you've faced and you arguably could have been 0-5 against them with fair judging and minus one momentary defensive lapse by the Saint Thomian ...well, you really should just GTFO with all that lions only, future of boxing chatter. :deal:

I don’t think anyone is upset that the fight was close, just that the scorecards were bad. That 117-111 card makes it especially hard to accept. Even if it had still ended in a draw but that card had been something like 115-113 or 114-114, I don’t think people would be as bothered by it. Plus both Charlos have been given several dubious scorecards in their favor over the years.

Winning 8 to 9 rounds fairly easily means..... Castano DOMINATED Charlo. I think it's time for you to find a new sport to follow, because it's become quite clear over the last few days, you have no idea what you're watching, and simply cannot properly process this sport nearly as well as you think you can. Please, for your own good Shadow, stop arguing this, this will haunt you.
