You'll remember Lenín Castillo as the man that was shut out by Dmitry Bivol (and would have been as well by Marcus Recardo Browne, were it not for him managing to drop the American). He's a popular draw at home, apparently - lots of the promotional materials actually mention him ahead of the pair defending world interim belts further up the marquee.

 

I saw a few places advertising 7pm and one (from the venue itself) had it -event, not broadcast- starting at 6.

Lenín Castillo TKO5 Ronald González

Mild upset, Castillo was 20-3-1 (15) coming in, and González entered 8-0 (8).

 

They're showing a bunch of replays, but of just the same ten seconds of action. Castillo pursuing González and scoring jousting match jabs and paintbrush rights, and then González ducking below the waist and wedging himself into Castillo's abdomen.

 

Miguel Mateos Moreno González vs. Hector Luis García Mora, 8 rounds @ featherweight

 

García is the bald and bearded southpaw; Moreno the clean-cut pretty-boy.

 

Local fave "El Droide" García beating seven shades of **** out of "La Maquina", the Mexican pretty boy...finally puts him down with a minute left.

Wow, surprised Moreno escaped the 1st. He was reacting to every shoveling left on the chin or right hook into his armpit like a gunshot, and the left uppercut to his gut that put him down completely folded him in half - but credit to him, down the stretch he was able to jab and move his way to safety.
