so what, cause hes a fan favorite he gets to have his achievements inflated beyond recognition? people can believe whatever makes them feel warm about what happened, but what stays the same is what actually happened, where ggg is now, and why he is there. no amount of fan favoritism is gonna change that. im not saying **** on his resume for no reason, but dont inflate it either. ggg is a grown ass man, has been for as long as fans have been aware of him, so he bears a whole lot of responsibility for the way things turned out, and where he is today. this cultural norm of men going straight for excuses for themselves and those they idolize is part of modern culture. i dont remember it being so as a youth. so he feels he got shafted, so what? he aint the first and wont be the last. but handling it like he has aint hurting nobody but him and those that idolize him.
Canelo can't even tell himself the truth. Look, Charlo suggests that he thinks he won vs Harrison in the first fight and against Castano which is completely absurd. So,there is reality, and what Canelo and Charlo think, two different things. Both suffer from" Stolen Fight denial syndrome". Niether is in touch with reality.
Ggg is fighting Murata next. Not saying Murata Is better than Andrade or Charlo who knows. Murata could be a low level , a level above or on the same exact level as Charlo and Andrade. But Murata is a decent opponent Olympic gold medalist, good power top Middleweight. This isn't Steve Rolls here or Kamil this is a decent opponent. I'd say Murata is better than the likes or Curtis Stevens.

I had lost respect for Canelo when he had used bulked up welterweight in Khan for middleweight title fight and everyone : boxing commision, boxing orgs and Canelo fans were fine with this. If I had posted that Canelo should do his title defense fight vs Okolie at CW, this had been the same and then I can predict reaction. Canelo also had used 38 y.o Mosley, big name in boxing but old on decline with 0-2-1 record in his last fights before fight vs Canelo for _______ a title fight. Beautiful choice, pretty cool resembles REAL core of pro boxing. Boxing orgs were fine with this. Boxer who didn't had won even one from his last 3 fights for a title fight vs Brand. LOL. Only then these later fights after he had failed by picking 36 y.o Floyd Jr. While Canelo fans like you everywhere see GGG fans.

Yep. I was never impressed by Golovkin but the structure of boxing does no fighter these years any favors. It's all about chasing the highest pay day which is completely understandable.
I think if Golovkin had fights with Sergio Martinez, Dmitry Pirog and Miguel Cotto then he wouldn't get much criticism but Cotto and Martinez did not want the fight. I think the only thing i'm a bit flabbergasted about is him not going upto 168 because not only would he have beaten Groves, Froch, DeGale,...etc... His stock would have skyrocketed. His fans kept arguing he should just unify and carve a legacy at middleweight but middleweight wasn't great at the time and no one really wanted to fight him at that weight. Saunders, Eubank,...etc... didn't really want the fight and he just waited on the Canelo fights to come to fruition taking a year or two off in the meantime fighting no hopers. The only other two true meaningful fights he had outside of Canelo were Danny Jacobs and Derevychenko. I think he was probably held back by Abel Sanchez to stop him from taking risks. I think Sanchez controlled the narrative in the media saying Golovkin is not a 168 pounder yet we here all the stories of him bashing up heavyweights in sparring. He broke George Groves ribs in sparring apparently. I think he clearly could have gone upto 168 and won the belts. I like Murata but his footwork leaves much to be desired and he's only really fought european level guys. It's still a good fight and i hope Golovkin does well financially from it.
I agree with that. It has always puzzled me slightly why GGG didn't/hasn't make/made the move up to 168. He's clearly big enough at the weight and I don't think anyone is suggesting he couldn't keep some of the guys at 168 on their toes. As you say, I think he would be able to hold his own against a lot of the established names (some of whom have since retired). His power would carry over, and it would have opened up options for him - like it has for Canelo. Yet, he, GGG, seems uninterested and has resolutely stuck to fighting in the 160 division.
I think to be fair he may have thought Carl Froch never truly wanted to fight him at 168 when it was rumored it could happen. Froch was likely just using Golovkin's name for an ego boost. I don't think Golovkin really gave much enthusiasm to fight at 168 which would have been his biggest payday at the time if it was against Froch. Golovkin became the boogeyman when he was knocking out over-matched opponents and he started becoming avoided fairly quickly when he had the chance to go after other world titles. I think now he's likely to be disheartened with the sport after the first Canelo fight and at his age he doesn't really need defining fights which don't warrant a large payday. I think from a legacy standpoint he probably could have tested himself a bit more. The problem is it takes two to make a matchup and boxing is a business. I mean Abel Sanchez said he was outboxing and beating up Kovalev in sparring with relative ease. Well, why not go and fight Kovalev in a real boxing match. Sanchez was the king of contradictions and i'm not sure what the truth was with his sparring stories.
