Question that raises for me: How does the bidding thing work for these level events? I wish i knew more about the bidding to understand your points.
Fighters have tried to rough Crawford up before, it didn't end well for them. Crawford is a mean dude.
This is exactly the kind of litmus test that Crawford should have had at 147 already. Porter is a handful, and not an easy night for anyone; this is where Bud can underline what everyone says about him being P4P the best, by being the first fighter to dominate, and possibly even stop Showtime. Crawford will be the favourite and should have too much in his bag of tricks for Porter, but Shawn is a live dog in this fight and always comes to win, which makes it interesting. I think this will be closer than many folks expect, with Crawford pulling through a few moments of adversity to win a close but clear UD
Just because the WBO have mandated it, doesn't mean it will happen. No doubt this suits Crawford and Arum as it would mean if they can't come to terms Porter only gets 25% which is less than he'd want when he's already turned down 2 mill. I suspect Porter won't accept that and just walk away. So only way this happens is if they come to terms and that means them offering Porter more than 2 mill.
Porter will go 12 rounds but lose all the same, if this was Ugas I might've given a second thought. Crawford's resume at 147 is pis$ poor but his talent is undeniable.
This will be a good gauge on Crawford. He really hasn’t had significant welterweight fights to be able to say ok he is that good. I mean we know he is a good fighter but he needs signature fights to be able to say without a doubt he’s absolutely the real deal.
I think it's fairly unanimous that everyone gives this mandatory a thumbs up. It'll prove a lot on Crawford's end. We already know what Porter can do. I favor Crawford but I think he's gonna have a good amount of trouble here. Porter gives everybody trouble
This is gonna be a good test for TC. Porter will put hands on him and if he is not 100% for this fight he will have a very long night and say bye bye to the 0. Im not a big TC fan but he is super skilled and I want to see what he is made of and Porter is the perfect fighter to bring the best out in him. If he can beat porter and make it look easy then he will get big time praise from me. But make no mistake about it Porter will make him work for it.
Crawford might actually stop Porter because he's tailor made for him. It won't be an easy fight but i don't rate Porter as highly as some others do on here. I like watching Porter fight because he's an exciting fighter to watch but his dad still coaches him and he's never really improved his boxing IQ. His strength and rough house tactics are second to none. He likes to come in with his head and throw wild punches which may throw Crawford off and make him uncomfortable. I think Porter will do well for most of the fight but will ultimately come undone later on with the ref waiving it off. Porter does tend to slow down once his pitbull energy starts depleting around the mid to late rounds. Porter main weakness which he's never really figured out is counter punching. He cannot evade a good counter punch because he can only fight one way going forward. His meagre amounts of head movement is not enough.
(IF)it happens I would take Crawford to beat him more comfortably than anyone ever has no problem.porter imo is no better or is marginally better than a horn or kavialauskas.hope it happens so bud can get his props from the naysayers.
