Avanesyan is going to find it tough to get an opportunity in a division as political as welterweight at the minute tbh.theres a lot of euro/Eastern European fighters in or around this division with the same problem..no talk or hype for them and just being ignored basically. As for the Taylor fight...who knows why but if he want's to stay active and fancy's it then why not.
Hearn does lose purse bids occasionally but only usually to the big hitters. This is like when he got outbid for the ill fated Eubank/Blackwell fight by Mick.
Yep, Matchroom do it a lot where they sign fighters to fight one of their guys with the option of further fights. Probably to keep them away from the rest of their fighters should they win.
Hearn didn’t bid. Frank Warren did (?) Avanesyan had a deal in place to fight Terence Crawford on October 23rd prior to the Porter purse bids being called. So Hearn wanted that and was happy to drop the EBU.
A lot of promoters do it. It's just that ava was the belt holder and was In a reasonably strong position regarding the belt but I suppose Aha would of seen it as win , win.
