I'm going to be devastated if Pac gasses and takes an ass whooping

Pac has been knocked out (never even dropped in his prime though). Hes been in wars. But hes never taken a one sided ass kicking.

Spence is far bigger and younger. Hes a decent fighter, nothing special. But the size and youth combined with being a decent fighter has me worried.

Remember against Cotto when Pac was 30 years old he never ran out of energy? Those days are gone. If he gasses hes getting a beatdown.

The world 1500m record in the 1500m is 3:26, the world record for 35 year olds is 3:32, for Pacs age group its 3:48. The dropoff is huge. And obviously age explains Pacquiaos drastically depleted gas tank.

If Pac gasses I'm gonna have to turn off the fight which I've never had to do before watching any of his fights.

    It's guaranteed

    Pacquiao doesn't gas big

But he takes big chunks of almost every round off & takes some rounds off entirely. Something Spence doesn't do.

    Spence will outwork him

If you land 2 punches on Spence he will come after you and land his own 2/4 punches. He is a workhorse.

Bigger, Younger, Sexier, Spence has everything in his favor. He should IV himself up after the weigh in also like Floyd. That's the only problem Spence has is 147 is extremely hard for him to make now. 31 years old. Reaching the end. A few 154 pick offs and Spence will retire.

Moment he goes up to 154 Arum and Crawfish will get loud mouthed pretending the call him out back down to 147. They are shook.

Well prepare to be devastated. I've been getting ready since the match was announced. But hey, you can always take pride in the fact that Manny's going to get retired by the P4P best in his division, and not Sadam Ali, like Miguel "The Gimp Hunter" Cotto.:risas3:

I sincerely doubt Pac is gonna get whooped as bad as you guys are saying.
At the worst, it will look like Pac-Horn were Pac was still getting his punches in but clearly getting pushed and shoved around by the bigger guy.
But I doubt he'd look completely outclassed in the ring. Only counter punchers can do that to Pac.
So if anything, Pac taking on Spence instead of Crawford is a better exit look if this is indeed his last fight.

Pac was gassing against Thurman when he was 40. Hes now 42. He has no tank left. Maybe if Pac can take a few rounds off and win all the rest maybe then maybe.

I think at best Spence wins a controversial decision. We’ve simply never seen Pacquiao dominated. And I don’t see Spence who will be be much more available for Pacquiao to get his get back when he wants to, to do as well as Floyd.

Even as an old man, if history will be repeating itself, it will be a SD type loss for Pacquiao where a large group will be swearing he got robbed.

Thurman is more skilled, more slippery, more mobile, and hits harder than Spence. Spence will be easier to find and will be right in front of Pac. Pac will hurt this boy.

I won't be devastated because I'm not delusional and no amount of wishful thinking is going to convince me that a 42 y/o natural 140 pounder who was already way past their prime long ago and who is giving away huge physical advantages, huge advantages in youth, and home advantage to a natural 154 pounder is going to be able to pull it off. Granted, Spence is overrated and has only beaten two natural 147 pounders (I mean who are at least natural 147 pounders) his own size and struggled badly against both even though one was damaged goods, has barely fought any punchers, and is way naturally bigger, longer, heavier and stronger than Manny. However, he actually is all they say he is, or to be more precise at least manages to somewhat justify the hype, when feasting on career 140 pounders, natural 140 pounders, and blown up 135 pounders fighting in their fifth division against opponents where his natural size, strength, and power advantages are huge assets for him (which he has forged a career on) and no matter how good Manny looks on the pads or in training I don't have unrealistic expectations that even the way past prime version who beat Thurman is going to show up at 42 years of age after a two year layoff.

Agreed. And I know this site features many knowledgable boxing fans. So we are able to properly analyze fights and fighters just as yourself.

But in real life most young people now dont even understand all the hoopla or buzz that surrounds Pacquiao. They're like so I watch him and he doesnt even look that good. I had a young guy about 21 tell me that. I said go home and then on your laptop I want you to watch Pacquiao fight Miguel Cotto. And Pacquiao fight Marco Antonio Barrera, I said make sure it's the first fight.

Next time I saw him I said did you watch those fights. The kid was super passionate and said something like, omg, this guy is ****ing incredible, wtf happened to him!!!!!! I said, uhh..... yea, he is, hes a goddamn legend, he got old.

What if Pacquiao got on his bicycle and ran the whole fight.

That would be a great strategy.

Size and age matter. If Manny was even close to his prime I'd pick him in a heartbeat even though Spence is way naturally bigger than him because he's just the much better fighter. Not saying Spence isn't good. He is but I've never seen a fighter get so much credit for beating naturally smaller guys as him and on the two occasions he's fought world class natural 147 pounders his own size, as said, he struggled badly against both.

He hasn't even proven he can put in a dominant performance against world class opponents his own size yet and that's why I find his lofty P4P so ridiculous. Everyone else in the P4P top 10 have proven that numerous times and the likes of Manny and Loma have not only beaten many world class fighters their own size they've completely dominated them and oftentimes completely dominated ones who are way bigger than them and it's a different ballgame when you're facing world class opponents your own size, bigger or much bigger. That's far more impressive to me than beating up on opponents you're naturally/much naturally bigger than.

Manny's a legendary fighter and anyone who has seen him in his prime and realizes what he has accomplished knows how special he is, whereas, Spence is a meat and potatoes big guy beating up on little guys and all this talk of him beating a prime Manny is highly comical. But the catch is Spence is very good at beating up on little guys who he's much naturally bigger and stronger than and Manny is an inactive 42 y/o little guy who is way past his prime and hasn't fought in two years and Father Time has the best resume in the game by a country mile.

I wasnt going to go here, I didnt want to start a fire in this thread, but the comparisons and hypocrisy is just too much.

Spence is a poor mans southpaw version of Beterbiev. Those both slow, plodding meat and potatoes fighters. Except Beterbiev is far stronger and more powerful p4p than Spence is. Is the more accomplished fighter and beat an absolute tip top fighter his own size in Gvozdyk. And yet Spence has found himself in the top 5 p4p for years. And Beterbiev struggles to break Americans media top 15 p4p. It's a complete hypocrisy.

And you know me, I love America and dont shy away from it. But when it comes to fighters I keep tribalism and nationality out of it.
