Everything about Joyce is a paradox. He might just be the most deceptive fighter of all time

Lol I had a feeling there would be a lot of AJ wining. Joyce stopped an older version of Takam and was losing in the process. It’s not that big a deal, and I like Joyce

I'm not trying to be funny and neither are you.

You tried to shout me down but I didn't back down. Now you want to pretend it was all in jest?

As a mod You've got all my details feel free to get in touch

No, I'm not saying it's all in jest. I said something, you quoted me because you took offense to it. Then I called you a name dismissively, then you went and started acting like the name I called you, yeah.. you didn't back down, but no one is scared of you, just not in the mood to discuss it any further. It's futile. I said my piece, we disagree, we both think one another is wrong... so get over it. Move on, quite whining. And no, as a mod, I don't have your personal information. IP check isn't the NSA.

Actually that’s a great point he is DECEPTIVE in the way he appears, which lulls people into a false sense of security. One of the key things tonight a lot of people did not notice was that as it appeared Takam was having success with overhand round shots, he was also depreciating round by round with the tempo Joyce was setting which eventually made him vulnerable for the stoppage aided by some excellent body shots Joyce started landing from round 3 onwards. If I was training AJ or any fighter to fight Joyce there are specific tactics that would be used and it won’t be about trying to knock him out. One of the most stupid pieces of matchmaking was to allow Daniel Dubois to fight Joe Joyce. Nothing in Dubois background or development had him ready for Joyce. I remember Angelo Dundee vetoing Sugar Ray Leonard and Hearns fighting on their way up because Dundee realised Leonard was not ready for Hearns yet but he would in due course.

I believe in fair and balanced scoring! :D But I can't get behind these quicky stoppages. Fights should be decided in the ring by the combatants, not by squeamish refs who don't seem to get the purpose of the sport.

Joyce just did what he does, eats shots but very rarely goes backwards. Takam was doing very well for a few rounds there. Joyce is a plodder but his chin is next level granite if he could take AG's power and I think maybe he could. It's not impossible to see him slowly grinding AG down.

Joyce does get landed on far to easily tho even granite shatters with enough force. Totally opposite style of fighter's

Yes, even in the amateurs fighters couldn't live with Joyce's pace. He was lighter and had a higher punch output then but even over three rounds it was too much for many of them.

I'm not writing Dubois off yet because he can punch holes in castle walls and hooking up with Shane McGuigan was a great move for him and one which will definitely be very beneficial for him. But, yes, it was too soon to stick him in with Joyce.

like davidson was saying about that tall kid, you have to learn when to throw those shots. in between sets, when his weight is on only 1 foot. aj knows when those times are, and those shots are more damaging because theres less stability in the target.

No don’t get me wrong I like Dubois myself but it was stupid of Queensbury to match him with Joyce. The result was inevitable. Yes Shane will definitely improve him but he cannot expect to blast everyone out.

Professor I think sometimes judges need to let fights end in their natural conclusion so that the fighter who complains cannot. I think Takam was finished but the referee should have let him be knocked out so that there were no issues.

To be fair even as a Brit, yeah that stoppage was a bit premature. It's not like he was out on his feet.

You mean Joyce ever has less than two feet on the canvas. His movement has improved
