Smelling salts is not a Ped lol It was legal in US at the time.

So if physicians give patients smelling salts, they are giving them Steroids, that's a howl, an excuse for these Modern Nutrition athletes. They are too lazy to train the manly way, doing good old fashioned conditioning.

 

Physicians use them all the time. But Modern Nutrition and Modern Training? They are plain old fashioned Steroids, Nobody can naturally grow to Empire State Building heights naturally, who are you fooling? To grow like that the natural body needs help to do that. I prefer watching the little guys, they are not consumed by height and weight, that is kind of corny.

Dundee used smelling salts on Ali and apparently they were illegal in the UK. But he did it in full view of everybody and there were never any protests about it, so it doesn't seem to have been a big deal. Never heard anything about Cooper's camp demanded it be a DQ for Ali or even a NC.

Dundee for his part probably wasn't aware it was illegal in Britain. Don't think he would have used it right in front of the ref if he did.

 

He did an examination at the Mayo clinic, I think it was, afterwards and they found traces of Benzendrine. Besides that he he was prescribed Thyrolar. Where the Benzendrine came from is unknown, but that was probably what helped him lose weight but left him drained.

 

The Thyrolar was given without any sort of standard testing.

Yes I am an Ali fan. I was lucky enough to have met him & shook hands with him. Was one of the highlights of my years round boxing.

 

Mr. Murrieta, no PED can increase height at all.
The growth plates close in late adolescence, & anyway none can ever lengthen bones.

Now many folks use PEDs to improve performances, & steroids allow one to recover faster & add much more muscle & strength.
Although some guys with the right genetics & training get bigger & stronger than those on drugs-unless one proves guilty, or gets bigger than anyone can for their frame, or already muscular quickly add bulk...
