Davison's tactics are awful, he was getting scared again when Joe went in for the finish despite the fact Takam was badly rattled and there for the taking. I thought it was sour grapes at the time however looking back everything Roach said about him was spot on.

 

Davison kept talking during the fights as if he were in the corner giving advice, I can see why Mark Tibbs was pissed off with him.

I don't think Davison is a bad commentator, he should be more of a third commentator rather than co-commentator, giving little bits of fight analysis during the fight, like Malignaggi used to do, Timothy Bradley does for ESPN etc.

 

difference being both were legitimate worl champion boxers thereselves , as someone else alluded to , everthing that comes out of his mouth is to try and ''sound'' like hes a boxing guru when it makes it even more transparent to anybody that really knows , this guy is an absolute clown , john fury called it from the start to be fair ...

How the mighty have fallen ! This time 2 years ago he was hailed as one of the best young trainers in the world.

now he’s seen as an insufferable blagger.

 

He'd have been OK last night had he done 1 or 2 fights instead of all of them.

 

Let's see if he can take someone from nothing and turn them into something.

That's the mark of a true trainer. Too many impostors around with "good" connections.

After being subjected to Band Camp on numerous occasions, I have been coerced not to make mention of anything relating to fluid or the creatures who inhabit such territories.

 

I'm sure Oscar Dela Hoya has tried that at one of his special parties.

 

I thought he was dire as a commentator on the BT card the other night.

He was literally describing a fighter as being one paced. As the fighter was varying the speed of his jab completely contradicting him.

For a supposed world class trainer he offered no insight at all.

Youtubers like Chris Andre boxing provide better technical insights than he does.

 

I thought he was okay on commentary, didn’t want to upset BT by saying anything too negative about the home fighter but some of his insights were interesting.

 

I noticed,he didn't notice, anything Takam was doing.
Also have to agree with the poster who stated he overuses the word "feint".
in the sheeraz fight he said, I'd like to see him use more feints. well Ben his opponent was out of position all night, no need to feint. He's encouraging fighters to feint when they really don't need to. U don't feint"just cos u can'
