It's a good step up for Joyce - arguably Chisora dealt better with Takam.... Either way, Del would pose more problems for Joyce than Takam. It'd be an entertaining fight if nothing else, both men are easily hit but not easily ground down - as much as Joyce has physical advantages, I think Del would give Joyce a real hard time. Not far off a 50/50 for me... I'd probably give Joyce a slight edge but no result would surprise me. (But I voted Del just because the poll is way more lopsided than I think it should be!)
Would be very much like Fury vs Chisora 2, jabbed into submission. Simple game plan for which Derek has little with which to nulify. I don't see this fight as competitive at all, not this version of Del Boy...
Joyce stops Chisora outright, won't be a question of a quick stoppage here. Takam is better than Chisora and gave a far different look, hence the trouble Joyce had. Chisora is gonna come in (at an advanced age) and rough up the bigger, stronger man who has a better jab and a thus far monster chin? Does that sound logical at all?
How about Joyce NOT fight Chisora. (LOL) Jesus, what is it with you guys and Chisora? Chisora has lost to Fury (twice). Chisora has lost to Whyte (twice). Chisora has lost to Usyk. Chisora has lost to Parker. Chisora has lost to Kabayel. Chisora has lost to Helenius. Chisora has lost to Pulev. Chisora lost to Haye. Chisora lost to Vitali. Instead of everyone and their brother taking turns beating Chisora, how about they just fight each other? I'd rather see Joyce fight someone who BEAT Chisora. Or, better yet, someone who hasn't even fought Chisora. Like Wilder or Ruiz or Yoka or Hrgovic or the Sanchez-Ajagba winner or Ortiz or Hrgovic or ANYONE ranked. Journeymen serve a purpose. Chisora is a journeyman. Instead of Rated contenders vs. Journeymen, let's see more Rated Contenders vs. Rated Contenders. Any time I see Chisora's name mentioned for another Eddie Hearn show, I can hear the division screeching to a halt. This division has to stop treading water. Chisora has had a DOZEN shots and lost them all. Forget Chisora. Make other fights.
Chisora has been unlucky with some of his SD's though. I thought he beat Parker personally. He fights anyone and gives most people he fights a tough game. I think he should fight Chisora because Chisora is better than anyone he's fought so far.
Dubois would still knock Chisora into the middle of next week. Chisora has 10 losses for a reason man. Great entertainer but he is journeyman level now.
I also gave a clear reason why Joyce shouldn't be fighting someone higher than that quality atm, because it would be too much of a step up too soon and a risk to his mandatory. Chisora is a good step up in quality to keep himself busy in the mean time. He'll be waiting until late next year for his shot anyway, he could fight Chisora then someone else in the mean time.
A raging Del Boy in the opening round, has a 50/50 chance of catching AJ with a looping hook to the temple and putting him down. And you know AJ, once he's buzzed, he tends to stay buzzed. Yeah, it's unlikely, but there's a small opening for him.
Joe Joyce will be 36 years old in about a month. He is a MONTH OLDER than Wilder, for God's sake. Joyce needs to force a title shot. Not tread water. Fight Ruiz. Fight Oritz. Fight Wilder. Fight Hrgovic. Fight Whyte. BEAT NAMES. I really like Joe Joyce. But he needs to put his foot on the gas. Forget Dereck Chisora. PLEASE. I've spent too many days and nights watching the foregone conclusion that Chisora will lose yet another featured bout on another featured card. These guys only fight once or twice a year. I want to see the contenders fight other contenders. Chisora IS NOT a contender. At this point, you have as much chance of seeing Chisora score a win as you do seeing Kingpin Johnson scoring an upset. And I don't want to see Kingpin anymore, either. Let's see rated contenders vs. rated contenders.
Eat some meat. Your brain is so atrophied that you're back to naively thinking AJ is some infallible beast. How quickly people forget.
I get what you are saying and I don't even disagree. I want Joyce/Ortiz next the most and then Hrgovic probably as a 2nd choice and then Yoka 3rd. But let's be honest what are the chances of those 3 fights actually happening? Probably pretty slim, Ortiz is dangerous as is Hrgovic and Warren doesn't usually take risks and Yoka probably isn't ready yet and wants to take a slower path than Joyce as he has time on his side unlike Joyce. Chisora on the other hand is a fight which I could quite optimistically see being made if they offer Chisora a big enough purse. It would be entertaining and Chisora would as always go the extra mile for the promotion, just see my avi as an example. There's a reason why Chisora has so many opportunities, he keeps saying yes when others would simply play it safe. It's what's made him a fan favourite and probably the only gate keeper in history that can sell a PPV on his name vs the right opponent. So don't mistake our enthusiasm for a fun fight as your preferred fight it's a pragmatic option not the ideal one.
