I have never seen Joshua remain calm when hurt. He always goes into panic mode and he never showed any change on that front. I think it's ingrained in him at this stage. Some people just can't take the heat like they dish it out.
I think he added the weight(muscle) so he doesn't get man handled by AJ. Needs to be strong enough to break free if AJ tries to hold. The extra muscle may affect his stamina and speed.......maybe. Usyk can offset this if he keeps AJ moving. AJ usually starts sucking wind around the 5th. Calculated risk, but I think Usyk is more than capable of running AJ out of gas and putting a comprehesive whoopin on him in the second half of the fight.
Usyk is very accurate, so the cumulative effect of his punches will cause significant damage, combined with Joshua's limited head movement.
Don't take it, go to a betting website and you can get better. Usyk to win on points is 4/1, by ko is 6/1.
He was too light with Chisora, he risked a lot in the first five rounders , but he won the same. If with Joshua he has chosen to get more weight Is because his aim Is to drop Joshua and not to beat him for decision. Fury at the weight of Wilder II gained more power no doubt. The same Usyk imo.
He doesn't need to bulk up. His optimum fighting weight is what he was coming in at down at CW and whilst he can carry the weight to come in at 215-217lbs as he did for Chisora he looks noticeably slower. He weighed about 212lbs in the WSB but he looked more agile and faster back then with quicker reflexes and he was counter punching more ie. using all of the advantages he has over these big modern day SHW behemoths. That's the Usyk I want to see at HW but unfortunately that version is no more. They just couldn't deal with his speed and agility and when you watch this version of Usyk you can understand why his moniker is The Cat And it's not like they weren't feeling his power either This version of Usyk would cause these big behemoths nightmares because he would be doing a lot of hitting and not getting hit back in return much at all This content is protected His manager said people will be surprised at how big Usyk is on fight night but I think bulking up is a terrible idea because it will slow him down That being said he looks a little slimmer in this pic than he has in recent months This content is protected
Such claims are relative, and this is an incredibly basic and simple observation. Nobody saying any professional boxer is "featherfisted" is talking about their punching power relative to your average Joe on the street. In the context of boxing, it refers to punch power in a relative sense - featherfistedness stands in relation to the chins of suitable opponents and the power of comparable fighters. We all know that professional heavies hit very hard compared to your average person and average local gym amateur fighter... We also know that some of those professional heavies hit far harder than others.
I almost spit out my coffee, but I realized I had my sarcasm filter on. When I turned it off, I laughed.
I don't see why Joshua is labelled to have a bad chin. He's taken some big shots and survived. Like the shot he took from Wladmir or Whyte. Ruiz just got him on a bad night I think. He's taken much biggers hits and survived.
Out of interest... Why? I do think Del has an okay chin, but he has been knocked out on a few occasions and has been forced to retire too. I could see an argument in that AJ is a far better boxer and gets hit less and by less clean shots, that might explain it to some extent. I tend to think that Del's chin is somewhat overrated here and that AJ's glassiness is very over exaggerated... But I guess it's something that's very hard to quantify and always likely to be subject to speculation.
Usyk is going to eat Joshua up and spit him out. That glass china chin is getting smashed just like in the Olympics. Hence why Hearn fought tooth and nail for that rematch clause.
