I already have produced evidence of Bugner getting the decision on one of the scorecards against Lyle, you might want to flip back a few pages. Treat yourself.

It was not the convincing victory Bugner needed, but it was hardly a convincing win for Lyle either.

“In a televised twelve rounder between two top ten contenders, veteran Ron Lyle battled British and European Heavyweight Champion Joe Bugner in a boring, drawish fight. It was a highly defensive matchup. Lyle and Bugner fought cautiously, with Lyle perhaps being abit more aggressive. No heads turned in the division in a twelve round split decision which could virtually have gone either way, and did not affect the heavyweight rankings in any way.”

“Bugner was able to score easily in the first nine rounds with his flicking • left jab, but apparently did little damage. Although Lyle appeared tired in the sixth, seventh and eighth rounds, Bugner was unable to knock him down.
In the fifth, Lyle was momentarily stunned at the bell when Bugner got in two quick rights. For a moment after the bell rang. Lyle appeared unaware of where his corner was.”

Bugner lost more clearly to Jack Bodel.

Here's the rest in order as i posted some of above that completes the article -

But after Bugner began bleeding in the 10th, Lyle seemed to come alive. ‘ Using fierce rights to the body and left uppercuts to the head along the ropes, Lyle tired his opponent, and Bugner began holding. In the 11th, the right hurt Bugner and again he tried to tie Lyle up on the ropes.

It was a disappointing turn of events for Bugner, who had hoped a convincing victory would gain him a title match with Muhammad AIL Bugner, eight years younger than the 35‐year oId Lyle, outweighed his opponent, 229 pounds to 218.

Yes even in This report, Lyle came back into the fight in the last 3 rounds after Bugner boxed his ears off in the first 9 rounds.

It wasn’t this way when Bugner lost to Bodel more decisively.

Thats not what happened. You were not accepting Bugner's claims and kept arguing with me and John Thomas even though we provided like 4 different sources. You questioned how much pain Bugner was really in and even suggested Frazier "must" have been a more gruelling fight because he was a higher calibre of fighter. You've been questioning Bugner's testimony for 3 days and several pages and now you're back peddling and acting as if you were totally fine with it and that we just imagined you disagreeing.

This is called "gas lighting". You're a psychopath.

Does he think we're incapable of simply watching the goddamn fight and judging for ourselves? It's been free on YouTube for more than a decade.

Did you notice a pattern? He said:

-lyle vs Peralta ended in a draw, it was a fair verdict and we have to "go with what the officials say" even though many people felt Lyle got robbed.

-now that we get testimony from Bugner that Lyle was his most painful fight, straight from the horse's mouth, he is disputing the official verdict and claiming Bugner arguably got robbed. He wants to now question the judges and minimize Lyle's win to question the legitimacy of Bugner's claims.

    Classic hypocritical goal post shifting.

Yeah I already saw. Your self-proclaimed "so much evidence" consisted of ONE judge having Bugner the winner as opposed to the other two... Using this logic every fighter on the wrong end of a split decision, was robbed. Which brings me to my next point...

Cleveland Williams in his SD loss against Terrell received the verdict from the referee AND the AP. In his draw against Machen, one judge had him clearly ahead, and the other 2 did not have him losing. So do we take these results and turn them into wins making him 3-0 over Terrell and Machen (which undoubtedly puts his record in a different light) as per your logic? Or are the rules different in this scenario, because it's in conflict with your agenda? Let me know which road we're taking.

no. I questioned if it really was the most Brutal and most gruelling fight of Bugners career because he clearly had more gruelling and brutal fights. That still stands. Joe Frazier nearly knocked his block off.

I don’t believe I mentioned the pain. I believe he was injured. It was the most brutal and most gruelling part I disagreed with.

I had to google the term “gass lighting” as it is not a term that is used in my part of the world.

Apparently it’s a form emotional abuse against sensitive vulnerable people? Is that right?

Maybe I should do some more research because I am a little confused as to how anything I have said could be seen as emotional abuse. And a little concerned that I might have inadvertently upset you emotionally in disagreeing with you on a boxing forum. It certainly was not my intention and I apologise for any misunderstanding.

I am familiar with what a psychopath is however, and again I do not believe it applies here either. It was not the response intended.

It shows that Jack Bodel beat a better version of Joe Bugner more decisively.
