Canelo's demands for Caleb Plant fight explained...

Maybe when they fight one time next year, they can put Caleb Plant and Gary Russell, Jr., on the same card together.

That would be two solid, boring hours you'll never get back again.

 

SOOOO over the top. Canelo wanted four times more money. He wanted to still fight some PBC stooge the equivalent of Plant if Plant didn't show ... Yes, so outrageous.

The STAR of the showing wanting the SHOW to go on if the no-name he's gifting a fight to doesn't make it. How dare he. (LOL)

And Plant's like, what if Canelo gets hurt ... I still want to be paid $10 million.

To hell with Plant. The Canelo-Plant fight is a blowout from the start.

Canelo was basically giving him $10 million for his plastic belt. The fight is a huge mismatch.

Sign to fight Bivol. Move on.

That hick Plant was so far over his head it'll be years before he realizes what he lost out on.

 

so why doesnt he just turn it down and fight benavidez instead? **** canelo and his so called demands, canelo can wait for him if he wants. whats holding up plant from building his bank account and legacy without canelo? is it canelo holding him up? what is it? how does the world need to be arranged in order to please plant?

I really think Al Haymon tells his fighters what to say and how to react. There's no way anyone with two brain cells would pass up on 10 million because he's offended that no one thinks he's worth 10 million. Its ridiculous.

 

Caleb Plant is a cardboard cutout. He's a clothes hanger. If someone else had the IBF belt hanging over his shoulder right now, that's who Canelo would offer the fight to.

At least Saunders had a personality before he had his face crushed in.

People trying to separate Plant from the people negotiating for Plant are high. It's Canelo's side and Plant's side.

If Canelo's side says you get $10 million, we get everything else, you just say THANKS and get ready for the fight.

That's it.

This is like Ray Leonard offering Bruce Finch a title fight and Finch's side having "demands." (LOL) You're nobody. If you have demands, forget it. Someone else would love the money.

If Plant ends up on Canelo's Hall of Fame record, good for him. If he doesn't, nobody will miss him.

None of this is about Plant. It's about the belt he happens to hold at this moment. If Caleb Truax had the belt, he'd be getting the call.

And he'd last about as long.

There's nothing to negotiate. You get the call, you accept the offer, you show up on the night of the fight. And do your best. That's it.

Manny Pacquiao got $10 million to fight Thurman. You're in "Pacquiao money territory."

Canelo is A side, you want the big bickies you have to deal with it. Take it up the bum if you have to and set your family up.

 

This is a tough one. Do I side with the PBC belt holder with a meh resume. Or do I side with the A side trailblazing superstar with a brilliant resume. This seems to be a PBC habit, and if rumours are to be believed it’s because Canelo refused to sign a multi fight deal. That’s the real reason this all broke down.

Some people forget, team Canelo aren’t just negotiating with Plant, they’re also negotiating with PBC/Fox. The Plant negotiating are straight forward. He gets a career high payday and a crack at the throne, as it were. That’s about the extent of what Plant can expect.

Problems arise when the PBC and Fox insist that it’s on their network. Canelo’s demands are simple enough in this regard. He’s letting them know that if they want to stage the fight then they don’t get to screw up Canelo’s fight date, and tie him down to more than one fight. Something Canelo knows DAZN would accommodate.

I agree with that to everyone has a choice and if Plant is happy fighting bums on PBC for Uncle Al then good for him it's his choice

 

he has other choices too. he could take on beterbiev and bivol himself, before canelo does. i guarantee that if he did, and won, his pay would have much more parity. but that would mean earning it, not just crying for it.

I seriously doubt Al Haymon's guys can do anything. They are all little bitches who do whatever Uncle Al tells them. There always seems to be a problem for them to make fights with anybody outside of PBC. I know other promoters have issues making fights but PBC is by far the worst case of in house circle jerk.

 

i dont disagree. but i dont hear their complaints. on the contrary, guys who call themselves Christians, always thank uncle al before they thank God.
