Second time in this session alone that we have seen a Team Cuba member with the last name Cruz take on a Brazilian with a height advantage. Very oddly specific coincidence.
Very tranquil pace in this one. They ...do know this is the last barrier to entry to a chance to box for gold, right?
3x 20-18 Cuba (1x 20-18 Brazil and 1x 19-19) so it's basically over unless the Brazilian guy beats him up in the third.
Clinic from Cruz in R2. edit: the Mongolian and Australian judge both gave it to Teixeira, somehow. This content is protected
He doesn't seem to have the necessary disposition or fire in his belly, and he would need to both have that and be A++ class to beat up a veteran talent like Cruz.
la Cruz wins 4-1 and advances to the final against Gadzhimagomedov. Based on that lackluster performance today i think the Russian guy is the clear cut favorite and should win Gold here. He's also pretty damn good so...yeah. Going with MG.
La Cruz's defensive radar and reflexes might not be what they were but man just a subtle last minute move or shift and takes just about everything off the shots coming his way.
Interested to know if the Aussie had it 3-0 Texeira? Genuinely thinking something is wrong with his scorecard or software or whatever, no-one can perfectly get every round wrong.
Official cards: 30-27 x4 27-30 SD for La Cruz Wtf is with the Aussie judge, had a shutout for Teixeira?!
