I preferred López's surgical accuracy while pressuring, even in spite of Whittaker's height and defensive movement. Not enough of those pot shots from the Brit. 10-9 López

Arlen has catlike reflexes, denying Benjamin the jab and spring-loading pull counters but the work rate has dipped offensively. Whittaker busier just not getting in touches..but scores a 1-2 late.

Judges go 4-1 López, meaning the fight hangs in the balance on just a single card...meaning the Cuban wins this unless he gets dropped or stopped.

 

If he's this flat, low-energy, unmotivated and uncreative in a gold medal bout ...idk that Whittaker's future in the pros is anything to be all that optimistic about. What's he going to do when he steps up in class and boxes for titles and faces adversity, same thing?

 

Not yet, maybe someday. The current owner has both banned me and made me mod numerous times...to say the least we have a complex dynamic. Although at the same time they're virtually a total stranger, we have had very few interactions over the years aside from their caprices regarding my status here.
