If it’s a short notice and Bivol has been saying for years that 168 isn’t a problem, I don’t see the big deal. Even better for Bivol here, the fight isn’t at 168

Chad Dawson said he could make 168...
Oscar said he could make WW...
Byrd said he was fine at ltHW...
Take what boxers say with a grain of salt. They can be full of **** just like everyone else in the world.

why dont you let it happen before complaining about it. its a bad look for a man to always sound like a hateful mother in law. i have no problem canelo catching crap for crap he deserves, but most of you do it no matter what he does. there are plenty of his fights where he did things worth complimenting, but you mother in laws never do. its pathetic.

You know how it i on this board....posters often claim a fighter shot or drained w/o much evidence to back it other than being a fan.

Yeah he’s so full of **** right? I can literally see that he’s a really small lhw. Everyone who’s been following his knows that weight has never been an issue

No, he's not full of ****. But geez... like i said, take what they say w/ a grain of salt, not be-all truth and gospel. Boxers, promoters, managers...ALL say what they need to sell.

    Fight Beterbiev.

Bivol is the soft (weight drained) option.

I actually credit him for a lot of his wins. I don't take away from his recent excellent performances, I just reckon if he's going to try his A side shenanigans against anyone who poses a threat in the light heavyweight division as he's done to date, then Beterbiev will likely be hit the hardest of the lot.

So... this is just like preparing in case bivol loses?

If Canelo fought him at 175 and lost would you accept Canelo not being a natural lhw as a excuse? Of course not. Splitting the difference isn't outlandish.

Bivol is younger less milage and naturally larger. He also has nothing to lose as this will be a huge payday and nobody will fault him losing on short notice to the p4p king (to some). If Canelo loses to bivol party could be over.

People seriously demand Canelo actively create disadvantages and obstacles for himself instead of doing what every a side does, and in a broader sense that every fighter does, which is go for ever every advantage, esp at the top level.

Canelo really expected to go into fights with backfoot boxers and say "give me the biggest ring possible " or fight a lhw champ and be like "**** it let's fight at cruiser after rehydrate."

Nobody has to root for the guy but this is pathological. Part of me roots for Canelo to lose just to give some of you a little joy and peace.

Canelo is pathetic. It's always catch weights, short camps, and or guys who didn't look good in their last fight. Then there were issues with his wraps. He was caught roiding before what should have been his best win. Can't forget all the suspicious score cards in some of his biggest fights, even against Floyd Mayweather.

This is exactly why boxing's popularity has been on the decline.

What's the big deal with catchweights? Pac fought plenty of guys at catcheights but Canelo can't?

I personally don't think catchweight fights should enhance legacy but they clearly built Pac's legacy of fighting bigger fighters. Canelo is doing the same.
