thats how it should be. if he does in fact fight bivol at a catchweight, i wont credit him as deserving the belt, just like i dont credit floyd for his win over canelo. i can look at it for what is, a win, but not one to compare with others won straight down the line. thats why i dont want to see it.
i fully understand his team looking for every advantage available, thats their job. it would be professional irresponsibility not to. now its bivols teams job to protect bivol from that, thats their job. but if we are to recognize that bivol deserves to defend his belt at the weight he won it at, we also have to recognize that canelo is the one bringing in all the money. so if bivol wants more than hes been receiving for his recent fights, hes gonna have to give something up. or take a million more than hes ever gotten and fight him at the weight hes most comfortable at. fair is fair across the board, not just on one side. if canelo is making your 2 million belt into a 10 million belt, hes getting something in return. otherwise, accept your 2 million and beat him.

In reality he should be fighting at LHW if Bivols belt will be on the line.

Yea I believe that, but this time Bivol’s telling the truth. I’ve been following him for a while and weight has never been an issue. The dude has no problem dropping 4 or 5 more pounds, everyone on this thread needs to stop acting like it’s a big deal.

i think whats fair, given bivol has an estimated net worth of 1 million dollars, with his career so far. is 5 million, but he gets to defend at his preferred weight. if he wants more, then he needs to give something up. so what else does he have of value? this needs to be looked at realistically, like adults who understand how the world and business works. and canelos team needs to understand that canelo isnt going to receive the credit he would otherwise receive if it isnt a cw. so whatever gets agreed upon, its being agreed to by full grown men who understand the situation. no excuses need be made for either team.

Did they use the rehydration clause?
Catch weight is like level 1 bitchmove but rehydration clause is full blown ***** mode.

But excuses will be made. If Canelo beats Bivol below 175, people can rightly excuse Bivol of that loss saying its purely because he was below 175.

    I'm the opposite me.

Rehydration clause isn't even worthy of an asterisk imo.

Catch weights get more dubious the lower they are.

What about a guy like Crawford? At 147, he rehydrated 18 pounds after the weigh in.
