Yeah I thought so too but he didn't win the round regardless and was outboxed comprehensively.

he did not. Cruz won.Has cruz ever knocked down anyone? He seems super slick boxer with extraordinary reflexes , but this wouldn’t work at pros for 12 rounds.

Yeah that guy is really talking out of his arse about Khyzniak. He's very technically sound and good at catching shots on his gloves. The only guy I can remember who truly beat him up was Julio La Cruz(Newly minted HW Gold medalist in the WSB).

Ah just realized you're talking La Cruz. Did you not see him wobble the Russian with a left hook? He also hurt La Reyez. He has over 30 KOs in amateur's man he has clear pop. I see him knock the sweat off of opponents. Cubans are usually fairly good punchers. He looked fine in the WSB and as a HW with his handspeed and timing, he'd definitely hurt guys. He'll never be a pro, but he has some big upside. I always say the amateurs show time and time again the concept size cannot be beaten is not true.

Yeah it's irony how he did actual running and wrestling around the ring but this guy is quiet.

no I did not see him wobble russian, all I saw was him land weak ass punches and get knocked down , but that was ruled out as a slip, although it was not a slip. Yea he won, but I am not sure if his style would work in pros.

Good performance by La Cruz. I thought Muslim would be too young for this slightly slowed down version of La Cruz, but the Cuban showed he still has it.

Here is the schedule for tomorrow for the dirty likes of you guys.

Men's flyweight final: Carlo Paalam vs GalaL Yafai.
Women's flyweight final: Buse Naz Çakıroğlu vs Stoyka Krasteva.
Men's middleweight final: Oleksandr Khyzhniak vs Hebert Sousa.
Women's welterweight final: Busenaz Sürmeneli vs Gu Hong.

I think Bachkov will be a fun pro.

I was saying that Cruz won, I think you misread what I said. If he can keep it up I actually do reckon he can make it work in the pros but I think it's too late anyway as age will catch up to him soon enough.

Sigh, casuals never appreciate creative styles of the sweet science. I can clearly see many body punches that stunned the russian and overhead rights that knocked the sweat off of him, and a left hook that wobbled him in the 3rd round. But OK hate on him because he has an unconventional and effective style. Barring having a bad chin, we've seen styles like that work in the pros. He'd still have the skills to simply outbox and outclass most opponents. He has great reach, decent pop, great timing hand and foot speed. But OK man. Hate on him :)

He already is, he's stepping up through the ranks quickly as he should.

What was the sport De La Cruz just got a gold medal at? Some new track and field event ? Dancing? Whatever it was it wasnt boxing.

Meant to stay up late... turns out I was more tired yesterday than I realized, passed out well before midnight.

    I've remained spoiler-free again, though.:bananaride

It really is hard for my ostensibly woke ass to reconcile being a supporter (in theory) of women's boxing and yet choosing to watch the opening ceremony with the mesmerizing Japanese wood-clacky percussion thingies and then skipping over both women's bouts to reach 'the good stuff'. :sisi1
