Max Baer Vs Lennox Lewis

Lewis rarely went for kill against durable opponents with dangerous punch. I thinj he'd TKO Baer late in the fight, but I don't see mature Lennox going for kill early.

 

I don't think he'd have to. Through the general course of proceedings he'd find Baer quite easy to hit and he has one of if not the greatest straight right hands in the history of the division so i can see that turning ugly pretty quick. As soon as he nailed Golota it was over.

 

It is right that Lewis is a strong favorite, but I would give Baer shorter odds against Lewis, than the only two men who actually beat him!

 

Please, don't compare Baer to Gołota (I'm Polish, I know what I'm talking about).

 

Sorry but i don't see Baer lasting in this one.

 

I'm not saying he would, but predicting a stoppage before the 5th round just doesn't work for me. I think Lewis would stop Baer, but nobody stopped Baer early outside of Louis and Joe was more agressive fighter than Lennox.

 

Lewis had assets Louis didn't have. The guy was a giant with the reach of a giant and had the skills of a smaller man. Baer just isn't that hard to hit and Lewis is gonna tag him often and early. Baer never fought anyone remotely like Lewis. Baer brings nothing Lewis hasn't seen.

facts I keep saying that to 70s lennox would destroy him and everybody else back then

lennox is the 2nd tallest skilled hw boxer ever he was more skilled then fury

Lennox would look at joe like this is the guy who is so called skilled cant be serious

 

wouldnt take that long to drop joe his defense was bad

 

max wasnt tough really the people that he took shots from wouldnt be able to cause damage in other eras the same way

 

Baer only got caught because of Louis ridiculous speed and combos…Lewis isn’t that kind of fighter. I pick Lewis to win outright but he’s not knocking him out in five. Baer had a top of the line chin.

and lennox wouldnt need to land as much as joe sense he hit way harder so yea lennox would win faster

 

No, people always hit hard and Baer faced a lot of big, powerful fighters who knew how to hurt opponent. He didn't have good defense, so he had to have good chin.
