so really no different than any other fighter afraid to risk a big payday against a cash cow, by fighting a dangerous fight before that. only difference being, it can be overlooked if its certain fighters.
I made a post about this last year. All kinds of lame excuses. Interesting fact. Bivol, Beterbiev, and Kovalev, three Russian champions all picked up versions of the LT HW title on the same month 4 years ago, and since none have bothered to fight each other. That's whack ****.

Bivol and Beterbiev both won world titles in November 2017. They've had four years to fight each other. They could have fought Kovalev who also won a title in 2017, that same month, but not even that. Honestly, four years is indefensible.
People have been calling for it for years. The last couple atleast. If both arave available to fight there's no reason they can't fight each other.
i wasnt talking about the whole world, i was talking about this site, these posters. ive seen multitude of posts and threads outraged at the shenanigans between spence and crawford. have i just missed the ones about beterbiev, bivol, and kovalev? who as isal pointed out, have been holding belts for 4 years? thats just pathetic. at least spence rounded up some of the other belts. 4 years is just embarrassing.
I reckon so yeah. Beterbiev has unified two of the belts, Bivol should be next really. Joe Smith has a belt as well, who Bivol has already beaten. So I think it's clear Bivol and Beterbiev are the top two and there's been threads calling for them to fight each other before this one.

fair enough. they both said theyre ready for a fight right now, both had sites on canelo, canelo is out, so the demand for them to fight each other will no doubt match the demand i see for crawford and spence, who also have their own excuses. i will be holding my breath.
You don't need to hold your breath mate, people have been calling for this fight for years. I don't think demand will match that of Spence v Crawford as both of those are P4P ranked fighters, both in a more prestigious division and both much more well known names on this website.
I would love to see it and I am pretty sure Bivol can beat him. One of the reasons its not happening, because its 2 fighters from Russia and probably not very interesting for casuals.
